My name is Lauren.
Welcome to Art and Soul Meditation.
Right now,
I want you to find a comfortable position with good posture.
Close your eyes and begin to notice your breath.
Think of the sound of ocean waves breaking upon the shore and match your breath to that rhythm.
Breathing in through your nose and out through your nose.
Continue to be intentional with your breath,
Matching the rhythm of the ocean waves.
Now contemplate this quote from Bahá'u'lláh.
No man shall attain the shores of the ocean of true understanding except he be detached from all that is in heaven and on earth.
Consider what you need to detach from to attain true peace and understanding in your life.
Right now,
Begin to detach yourself from all the stress that weighs upon you.
Imagine all your stress and distracting thoughts being washed away by the ocean and carried away by its current.
Bring your attention back to your breath,
Continuing to breathe to the rhythm of the ocean waves.
Any thoughts that arise in you,
Acknowledge them with no judgment and let the ocean waves wash them away.
Now bring your attention to your body.
Begin to scan your body from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
Notice where in your body you might be holding stress and tension.
Begin to consciously relax those areas.
Relax your face.
Relax your shoulders,
Your arms,
Your abdomen.
Relax your back,
Your thighs,
Your ankles,
Your feet.
Feel that tension just wash away.
Imagine yourself surrounded by warm,
Gentle waves and a cool,
Refreshing ocean breeze.
You are floating,
Fully relaxed without a care.
Just floating.
Just floating and breathing in the salty ocean air.
Now as you float there,
Listen to your inner voice,
The voice beyond stress and distraction of life.
Dig deep down to the core of you,
To your true essence.
What is that voice telling you?
Have you gained clarity or some new understanding?
Take a few deep cleansing breaths and now slowly begin to notice your surroundings again.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes but let that peaceful feeling continue to wash over you.
Now consider journaling about your experience,
How it felt,
What your inner voice might have said to you.
Try to hold on to the peace and relaxation of this meditation experience as you go on with your day or as you drift off to sleep.
Whenever you are feeling stressed,
Stop and bring your breath back into that rhythm of the ocean and feel those waves wash away your stressful feelings.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
Namaste.
