Most people think meditation is one thing.
Sit still,
Close your eyes and follow the breath.
But there are three ancient forms of meditation that almost no one talks about.
The first one is open monitoring.
Instead of focusing on one thing,
You let awareness rest on everything,
Sounds,
Sensations,
Thoughts,
Without grabbing any of them.
The second is non-dual awareness.
This is a state where the boundary between you and your experience begins to soften.
There is no observer,
No observed,
Just awareness itself.
And the third is active imagination.
Your mind becomes more flexible and receptive,
More able to learn,
Heal and rewire itself.
This is used by ancient shamans and later by Carl Jung.
It's a way of entering the imaginal realm to meet symbols,
Archetypes and inner guides.
