Let's get back into the body.
For this one,
You don't need to lie down,
You don't need to close your eyes if that's not going to work right now,
At your desk,
Wherever you are.
Eyes open,
Eyes closed,
Whatever is realistic for the next few minutes.
Just let your gaze soften if your eyes are open and keep your posture upright but relaxed,
Not rigid.
This is about resetting so you can actually meet the rest of your day instead of just pushing through it.
Let's begin.
Wherever you're sitting.
Feel the support underneath you.
The chair,
The seat,
The ground beneath your feet.
Let your shoulders drop just slightly away from the ears.
Unclench your jaw if it's holding anything.
And take one breath in through the nose.
And let it go a little slower than usual through the mouth.
One more like that.
In.
.
.
And out.
Now let the breath settle into its own rhythm without needing to control it.
Just notice the air moving in.
And moving out.
If your mind wanders off somewhere,
To a task,
A message,
Something you need to do later,
That's completely normal.
Just notice.
And then come back to the breath.
You might do this 10 times in the next minute.
And that's okay.
This is the practice.
Noticing the air moving in.
And out.
And out.
Now without changing anything.
Just notice where you're holding tension right now.
Maybe the shoulders,
Maybe the hands.
Perhaps the space between the eyebrows.
Again just notice it you don't have to fix it and if you want to,
You can invite a little bit of ease there a small softening,
Nothing forced Shoulders a little lighter.
Hands a little looser.
Face a little softer.
And that's enough.
An invitation to relax is plenty.
Now for a few breaths.
Let's just rest here.
Imagine for a moment that this exact minute doesn't need to lead anywhere.
It's not a stepping stone to the next task.
It's simply being present in this moment.
If it helps,
Picture a quiet room with a window.
In this version the light coming through is warm afternoon light Maybe you've rested in this room before.
It feels comforting.
And familiar.
And nothing is asked of you here,
This room.
Will always be here when you want to return.
Breathing in.
You're here.
Breathing out.
You're here.
In a moment,
We'll come back to the rest of your day.
But you can bring this feeling with you.
Start to deepen the breath just slightly.
If your eyes were closed,
Let them open now slowly.
Notice the room around you again.
The light,
The sounds,
Whatever's nearby.
Roll your shoulders back once or twice.
And when you're ready,
Go ahead and carry on with your day.
A little steadier than when you started.
You got back into the body,
You can come back here anytime you need to.
Thanks for taking these few minutes with me.
You
