My name is Phan and I'll be guiding you through this soothing 360 Afrikan Kora audio meditation.

In this meditation,

You'll be taken on a serene morning chorus of crickets and birdsong captured in Mebelengwe Nature Reserve,

While the melodies of the Kora and resonant tones of singing bowls create a gentle,

Melodic breeze to soothe your senses,

Setting a relaxing tone to start or end your day.

Whatever the intention,

Use this sound healing session to ease any tension away.

The Kora,

A revered 21-string harp from West Africa,

Is played by Musa Dembele,

A descendant of griot storytellers from Burkina Faso and Mali.

Its intricate melodies evoke a deep connection to Africa's ancestral harp.

Passed down through generations of griots,

The Kora has accompanied ancient tales and enriched spiritual ceremonies.

So let's use this moment to reconnect you to your spirit and ground you back into your body and the present moment as the sounds cocoon you in this ancient motherland.

Now find a comfortable position lying down or seated and close your eyes if you haven't already.

Focus on your breath.

Inhale slowly through your nose for a count of four and hold for four.

And exhale softly through your nose for six,

Releasing all tension through your breath.

Let's repeat that.

Inhale for four,

Hold.

And exhale gently.

Feel your breath flowing like a soft breeze,

Calming and centering you,

Inviting each breath to help you sink deeper into the present moment,

Allowing yourself to fully relax and let go.

As you exhale,

Feel your body soften and let any chatter in your mind gently quiet down and fade away.

Once you've settled into this rhythm and you're feeling a sense of calm,

You can proceed into the African soundscape.

Continue the gentle breathing pattern you've practiced,

Allowing the sound of this gentle morning wilderness to flow through you.

As you relax further,

You'll find that your natural breath will automatically return,
