This meditation is designed to shift your nervous system into a state of openness and possibility.
We'll use breath work to activate your parasympathetic nervous system.
This is your body's rest and restore mode.
Then,
We'll cultivate awe,
Gratitude,
And embodied visualization to help you align with something you genuinely wish to invite into your life.
This is not wishful thinking.
It's physiological priming.
When you pair calming breath,
Strong positive emotion,
And vivid mental rehearsal,
Your brain begins to encode new patterns.
These open possibilities.
You're teaching your nervous system what alignment feels like.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down,
Whatever allows your body to feel supported and at ease.
Close your eyes,
Or soften your gaze downwards.
Before we move into breath,
We will set our intention.
Bring to mind something that truly matters to you.
A vision of something you are building.
Or a version of yourself you wish to embody.
This is not something you should want.
It's something that you do truly wish for.
Something you may even have longed for.
Something that would delight you or open new worlds.
Something that might even ripple outward beautifully into the universe in ways you can't yet see.
It might be a quality you value,
Groundedness,
Creativity.
Presence.
It might be something you're creating,
A project,
A relationship shift,
A way of showing up in the world.
It might simply be a feeling state you would like to live from more often.
Peace,
Vitality,
Courage,
Joy.
Whatever it is,
Name it quietly in your mind.
You don't need to solve it or plan it.
Just get crystal clear on it.
This matters to me.
Now hold that lightly.
We'll return to it later.
For now,
Let your intention rest in the background while we prepare your body and mind.
Now we're going to use a breathing pattern called 4-7-8 breath.
This activates your vagus nerve and signals to your brain that you are safe.
It slows your heart rate,
Lowers cortisol,
And opens the door to calm,
Creative thinking.
Here's how it works.
You breathe in through your nose for a count of four,
Then hold your breath gently for a count of seven,
And finally exhale fully through your mouth for a count of eight.
So the exhale is longer than the inhale,
And that's what activates the parasympathetic response.
So let's do this together.
I'll guide the first round,
Then you can continue on your own.
Breathe in 2,
3,
4 Hold 2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7 Exhale 2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7 Now continue at your own pace.
Beautiful.
Now let your breath return to its natural rhythm.
Notice for a moment how your body feels.
Perhaps a little softer.
A little more settled or calm.
Maybe even a bit more open.
Now bring your attention to the simple miracle of being alive right here,
Right now.
Think about the fact that you are breathing without effort.
Your heart is beating without instruction.
Your body is regulating temperature,
Circulating blood,
Repairing cells.
All without you needing to manage it.
You are part of an unfathomably vast universe.
Your presence here is a deeply improbable event,
Appearing in this world through generations of sequential,
Improbable events.
And somehow,
Somehow you are here,
Conscious,
Aware.
Able to think,
To wonder,
To love.
Let yourself feel the strangeness and beauty of that,
Not as a concept,
But as a lived experience.
You don't have to manufacture awe.
Just notice what's already miraculous.
The light filtering through a window.
The fact that you can taste sweetness.
That you can hear music.
The smell of a campfire.
The salt breeze on your cheeks at the beach.
The intricate architecture of a single breath.
Let that sense of wonder settle into your chest,
Into your bones.
You are here,
And that is extraordinary.
Now bring your attention to gratitude,
Not as a practice of forcing positivity,
But as a simple acknowledgement of what is already here.
What in your life right now is worth honoring?
It might be a relationship.
A space.
A moment of safety or peace.
A warm bed,
A conversation that mattered.
Something your body can do.
Something you've learned.
A kindness someone showed you.
It doesn't have to be big.
In fact,
The smaller and more specific,
The better.
Bring one or two things to mind now.
Connect and allow yourself to feel genuine appreciation and gratitude for them.
Stay here for a moment.
Let the feeling of gratitude settle.
And now we're going to shift into something powerful.
We're going to step into the future as if it's already unfolding now and meet it with gratitude.
So I'd like you to bring back that intention you named at the beginning,
That vision of who you're becoming or what you're creating.
This time,
Imagine you're already living it.
Not as a distant hope or something you are wanting.
It is your present reality.
Picture the scene.
What does your day look like when this is true and this is your reality?
Where do you wake up?
What's the first thing you notice when you open your eyes?
Step into the details.
What sounds fill the space around you?
What scents are in the air?
If you reach out,
What do your hands touch?
Who else is there?
Or are you alone,
And that is exactly what you need?
Now notice yourself in this moment.
How do you move through the world when this intention has taken root and become real?
What's different about your posture?
Your pace.
The way you meet people's eyes.
And now,
Feel it in your body.
Not what it means or what it proves,
Just how it feels.
Maybe there's a deep exhale you've been waiting years to take.
Maybe there's a steadiness in your spine,
Openness in your chest.
A quiet hum of aliveness running through you.
Whatever it is,
Let it rise.
Let it fill you now.
And from this place now,
Offer gratitude.
Not for what might happen,
But for what is happening.
For what is real in your body,
Right now.
Take a moment to recall,
From this place of completion,
The steps you yourself have taken to arrive here.
What were the powerful practices that brought you here?
The mindsets you adopted.
The bold moves you made despite fear or trepidation.
Let this gratitude for yourself and for your situation rise.
Thank you.
Thank you for this becoming.
Thank you for choosing this.
Thank you for the courage to imagine it and the patience to let it unfold.
And let the gratitude and the feelings of completion and presence with this future that you are bringing into the present all weave together.
And stay here.
And now,
Release it.
You've planted something.
You've felt it take root.
You've given it breath,
Sensation,
And your gratitude.
Now comes the hardest and the most essential part.
Trust.
Trust that this isn't something you have to force into being.
You don't need to micromanage the timeline or script every step.
You've already done what matters most.
You've aligned your nervous system with this possibility.
You've taught your body what it feels like to live it.
Now let the unfolding happen in its own time,
In its own way.
And on your next breath out,
Imagine loosening your grip,
Not abandoning the vision,
Just giving it room to breathe,
To grow.
To surprise you.
What's yours will find you.
You've set it in motion.
Let it go and allow life to unfold and to meet you there.
Now,
When you're ready,
Begin to deepen your breath.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Roll your shoulders.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
You've just practiced something ancient and evidence based all at once.
Ah,
Gratitude,
Embodied vision.
These aren't just feel good exercises,
They're tools for nervous system regulation,
Intentional living,
And bringing dreams into reality.
The more you practice this,
The more automatic it becomes.
Thank you for showing up for yourselves,
For each other,
And for what we're all here to create.
