Hello and welcome to your guided meditation on closing the door on negative thinking.
Begin by moving into a position that will allow you to relax and focus.
Once you are in a position to focus,
We'll start with a small breathing exercise.
We will breathe in for four seconds,
Hold for four seconds,
And breathe out for four seconds and hold for four seconds.
We will repeat this exercise four times,
One time out loud,
And three times on your own.
Make sure to focus on the breath while you do this.
Let's begin.
In for four,
Hold for four,
Out for four,
Hold for four.
Now continue on your own three more times.
As you complete the breathing exercise,
Begin to allow your thoughts to enter your mind.
Look at these thoughts and evaluate if they are serving you and helping you be better and grow,
Or are they thoughts that are bringing you down and holding you back?
While you evaluate these thoughts as they pass through your mind,
Visualize two boxes in front of you.
One for the thoughts that help or serve you,
And one for the thoughts that bring you down or harm your growth.
As you look at each of these thoughts as they pass into your mind,
Pick the thought out of your mind space.
Hold it in your hand.
Imagine the color of this thought.
What are the colors of the positive thoughts or the thoughts that serve you?
What are the color of the negative thoughts or the thoughts that are holding you back from something?
When you pick each thought out and look at it,
Place the positive thoughts in the box that serves you,
And place the negative thoughts in the box that would hold you back.
Continue to do this for the next minute.
Take your time and allow the thoughts to flow,
And pick them out and put them into the appropriate box as you do so.
After you have taken the positive and negative thoughts and put them into their appropriate boxes,
I want you to imagine a door.
You walk up to the door and open it,
And behind the door is a void of nothingness.
Just an empty,
Vast space with nothing in it.
Now take the box of negative thoughts and cast it into the door.
Allow it to fly away into the void.
Now close the door,
And in your mind,
The door is shrinking and getting smaller and smaller until it disappears into nothing.
You have now taken all of those limiting thoughts out of your mind and cast them into the void,
Never to be found again.
Now go back to the empowering thoughts box,
Hold it up,
And imagine dumping all those thoughts back into your mind.
Look at each one and appreciate it as it flows back into your consciousness.
Be grateful for those positive and empowering thoughts.
Take a moment to look at and absorb those positive and growth-filled thoughts,
Whatever they may be.
Now as you have taken out and thrown away all your negative thoughts and filled your mind back up with empowering and positive thoughts,
Begin to come back to the present moment.
Start by moving your hands and feet,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
Allowing that positive energy from your mind to flow into all the other parts of your body.
As you are coming back to the present moment,
Open your eyes,
Take a moment to appreciate the positivity and the empowering thoughts you have now filled your mind up with you to take into the day.
