Welcome to the grounding breath,
A practice designed to help you reconnect with your body,
Your breath and the present moment.
By tuning in to your senses,
We'll let the breath flow naturally and invite calm into your mind and body.
When you're feeling ready,
Finding a comfortable position,
Seated or standing,
Eyes open or closed,
Whatever feels comfortable for you today.
And let's begin,
Taking a deep breath in and out.
Continue now to allow your breath to just flow naturally and might you now allow your attention to settle on your body.
Just noticing the gentle rhythm of your breath,
Moving in and out,
No need to change or control.
Just noticing the breath.
Could you bring your awareness now to your feet?
Feel them grounding into the surface beneath you.
With each inhale,
Feel a sense of stability rising through your body,
Steadying you.
And with each exhale,
Imagine any tension in your body is flowing downward and releasing into the earth beneath you.
With each inhale,
Feeling that sense of stability rising through you,
Steadying you.
And with each exhale,
Releasing any tension flowing downward towards the earth.
Now,
Might you bring your awareness to the sounds around you?
Just noticing the sounds,
Noticing what you can hear.
Could be the hum of your surroundings,
The sounds on this recording,
The sound of your breath or even a quiet stillness.
Allow these sounds to anchor you,
Letting each exhale bring a deeper sense of calm within.
And could you imagine as you inhale,
Your breath drawing in clarity and a beautiful golden light.
And as you exhale,
Picture that light gently softening any tightness or stress in the body and mind.
As you inhale,
Could you visualize this golden light expanding to a warm glow surrounding you?
Feel this glow expanding with each breath,
Creating a cocoon of ease and calm.
Surrounded with peace and this beautiful golden light,
You may like to mentally whisper,
I am steady.
I am grounded.
Now taking one final deep breath in,
Allowing the sense of grounding and ease to fill your whole body.
And as you exhale,
Feel a gentle wave of relaxation flowing from the top of your head right down to the tips of your toes.
Notice how you feel and know that this sense of calm is always available to you simply by tuning into your breath and your senses.
Taking one last deep breath in and when you're feeling ready,
Opening your eyes or lifting your gaze and carrying this grounded,
Centered,
Beautiful energy with you and into your day.
Could you visualize this golden light expanding to a warm glow surrounding you?
