Welcome,
Everyone,
To my podcast.
My name is Erica,
And I am a meditation instructor.
Before we get started,
I would like you to inhale and exhale as we release any negative thoughts that may come to our mind today.
This series is called Embody You.
Embody your mental,
Let it be.
Commit to yourself and really immerse in the beauty within.
Yes,
We are all beautiful in our own way,
Regardless of what society has told us.
Learning to love you is probably one of the most challenging tasks in your lifetime.
We all struggle with loving ourselves at least once in our life.
However,
We do hold the power of inner work.
My mother always taught me we can either be the victim or the victory.
Today we choose to be the victory.
We all have a story to share and a light to shine.
Life is about being our true authentic self.
In my journey as someone who struggles with bipolar disorder,
I really had to look within and dig deep.
There were many days I wanted to give up,
But something told me that I hold a higher purpose in this world.
My purpose is to share my story of how I overcame mental health challenges and started living a normal life.
I'd say my greatest accomplishment is living and smiling.
There were many days of sadness and tears,
But through perseverance and the love of my family,
I am able to smile again.
I have a true sense of understanding when it comes to self-awareness.
I bring this up because self-awareness comes first when it comes to self-love and change.
Every day is a new day to reinvent yourself,
No matter what others think of you.
Each day,
Look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself,
What can I change about me?
You don't have to keep reinventing the wheel.
You just need to renovate you.
When changing,
It can be something literally as small as,
I want to smile today.
Maybe you want to volunteer in your community or finally finish writing that book.
Be inspired by you.
Sometimes,
We can be our own worst enemy.
Trust I have been there before.
For me,
Therapy and medication worked,
But it's only a band-aid.
I had to do some deep inner work to find inner peace and pure joy.
I'm not going to sit up here and make it seem as though all that glitters is gold.
However,
I am proud to say that out of seven days of the week,
I am happy at least four to five times out of the week.
Ask yourself,
Am I truly happy or do I still envy others?
Am I ready for change or am I still stuck in my ways?
If you are really ready for change,
I've got some tips and tricks that really helped me get through my sad days.
For one,
Try something new.
I found out that I really enjoy line dancing,
Even though I have two left feet when it comes to dancing.
All of those twists and turns get me every time.
However,
I still put myself out there and did a whole six-hour class.
While it was only one class,
I learned a lot that day.
I learned that people are kind.
The world is not out to get us.
We manifest our reality by our thoughts,
Words,
And actions.
Say what you want,
But I truly stand by these beliefs.
Some believed in organized religion,
But I believe in organized thoughts.
We all have to think for ourselves.
I don't know about you,
But manipulation comes in many forms and it's not a great feeling.
When we stand on our own beliefs,
We don't tend to stay conditioned and conform to societal ways.
We have literally been taught to beat ourselves up from the time we were born,
From all of these systems that were placed to trap our minds.
We now have the freedom to choose differently.
Why not choose peace,
Which starts with peace of mind?
I get that all lives matter in this world,
But you truly matter and you truly have a purpose in this world.
When was the last time you sat in silence to find out which hobbies you are actually good at and can become lucrative at the same time?
Are you truly happy with your 9 to 5?
In this economy,
I'm by no means telling you to let go of your 9 to 5,
But if that's a dream,
Start making small steps towards that reality.
I did and noticed a huge difference.
While I'm not a perfect human being and resorted to drinking during the holidays,
I have been making the conscious effort to give up alcohol.
I find that I think clearer and I am more creative when I don't drink.
Also,
Alcohol is intended for you to spend money.
The more you drink,
The more you spend.
Why not use that money for a hobby and do something good for yourself?
Writing is both healing and powerful.
Even if you only write one sentence and it's a positive sentence,
You will find that you'll want to write more.
Writing is also therapeutic like art.
You're building a canvas of the life you desire to see for yourself.
You may even become that number one selling author you desire to be.
Lastly,
Affirmations work.
Come up with a few daily affirmations or even use some online ones that will bring some inspiration to your life.
Remember,
Thoughts,
Words,
And actions all have meaning and all have power behind them.
Happy writing and I hope you enjoy your day.
Stay tuned for part two of Embody You.
