Hello,
Welcome to today's meditation.
Today's meditation is about the four elements,
The four elements that we come from,
The four elements that we return to and the four elements that we're in relationship with that are accessible to us every day.
So we're going to start by taking some nice deep breaths,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in,
Imagining that we're a body of water as we breathe.
With each breath we're a wave rising and with each out-breath we're crashing back into the ocean,
Falling back into the oneness.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in,
We become separate.
Breathing out,
We fall back into the one.
And as we become separate,
We know that it's just a form but that our essence is of that oneness.
Feel yourself as you breathe in,
Filling up with life and vitality,
Breathing out,
Letting go of any tension,
Releasing it.
As we breathe,
Centering our breath in our belly,
Feeling on the in-breath the fullness of a full belly and then the out-breath pressing out all of the air,
Becoming totally empty so that you can invite more fresh air in on the next in-breath.
And breathing out.
Now let's turn to the four elements,
Starting with water because that's where we are now.
Water is the medicine that allows our emotions to move through us and beyond us and outside of us.
Water is the great nourisher of life.
Water can be gentle like a mist or it can feel heavy like the power of a wave.
Thinking about all the different bodies of water,
Creeks,
Rivers,
Oceans,
Lakes,
Waterfalls.
Water is here to cleanse you.
Water is here to move your emotions through you,
To purify you.
Next,
We turn to fire.
Fire is passion.
Fire is warmth.
Fire is power.
Fire can burn anything that no longer serves.
Let it be consumed by the holy fire of destruction to make space for new opportunity.
Finally,
We come to earth.
Earth,
Of course,
Is there to ground us in our being.
You can imagine what it feels like to lie down on this earth,
Being completely held.
Letting the earth absorb any tensions.
Letting go of all of the holding.
It's a place to be held.
The earth is the rocks,
The crystals,
The minerals,
The gardens,
The trees.
Earth.
Here we come to air.
Air,
When we are feeling heavy,
We can call upon the great spirit to lift us up.
Allowing us to soar through the sky.
Allowing us to hear the whisper of spirit.
Allowing us to breathe with that air flowing through us,
Through our channel.
Sometimes the air feels like a balmy breeze,
Gentle.
And sometimes,
In the midst of a storm,
We can feel the power of the air.
We can learn how to sit in the eye of the storm.
Lastly,
There is a fifth element of ether.
Ether is the web that ties everything together.
All of these elements.
Ether is the weaver of meaning of our own personal journeys.
As we move through our personal bodies in relation to these elements.
So tune in right now to what's going on in your body.
What feeling are you feeling?
See if you can cultivate eyes of compassion towards your feelings.
And maybe you don't even know how to classify what you're feeling.
And that's quite alright.
You don't need to know in order to feel it.
Feel it in your body.
And invite curiosity.
What element would feel good to work with?
Perhaps you're feeling that you want the help of some water to move your feelings through you.
Maybe you're feeling dull and that you need to be reignited with fire.
With the help of fire.
Maybe you simply want to be held in this presence with your emotions.
As they manifest in your body.
And maybe you want to call upon the wind,
The air to lift you up out of your heaviness.
Into the world of spirit.
When you've located the element that you want to work with.
Get to know it.
If it's water,
Imagine yourself immersing in a beautiful body of water.
If it's fire,
Feel yourself sitting close to it,
Being warmed.
If it's earth,
Imagine yourself in fetal position as she nourishes you with her support.
And if it's air,
Feel the air flowing through your hair.
Feel it on your skin.
And feel your own breath as it moves through you.
And if there's a part of you that doesn't know which element to settle on,
That's okay too.
Let yourself wander,
Feeling at home.
These elements are what we are made of.
These elements are what we return to.
Scanning your body now for any place that tends to hold tension.
As we breathe in fully and let go.
Going to those places and giving love.
Loving the place between our eyebrow that tends to furrow.
Letting our mouth hang slightly open.
Letting our jaw release.
Dropping your shoulders back and down.
Opening your chest and opening your heart.
Feeling how your hands sit gently on your lap.
Feeling the energy in them from the inside out.
Letting your belly really hang loose and free.
Feeling relaxation in your thighs.
Feeling relaxation in your calves.
And in your feet.
Coming back to the soft breathing body.
Can you begin to feel your own energetic frequency in this stillness?
Like a pulsation.
Continuing to breathe.
Feeling how lovely it feels to inhabit this body.
With each breath inviting in that relaxation into the body.
Perhaps having a smile behind your eyes.
As you breathe.
It feels so good in my body.
It's safe to feel this good in my body.
The elements live in my body and are there to support me on my journey.
I feel comforted to know that these elements are a part of me.
I have the agency whenever I need to turn down the dial of my mind.
And drop into my heart space.
Using the help of these elements.
And I am the weaver weaving meaning into my life with the help of these relationships within me.
Begin now to gently move your hands and toes.
And roll around your neck.
Inviting the body back into what will soon be opening your eyes to the world.
Thank you.
