Welcome to this guided meditation for renewal and awakening,
Inspired by the beauty and symbolism of a sunrise.
I invite you to find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down,
Whatever is your practice,
Lengthening your spine,
Resting your palms either on your lap,
On your belly,
Whatever feels most comfortable.
Eyes may be closed or soften the gaze,
And as you're settling in,
Just observing how your body feels,
Noticing your breathing,
No need to change it,
Observing,
Noticing the rising and falling of your chest and belly with each inhale and exhale,
Again,
Feeling the earth beneath you,
Supporting you.
On your next inhale,
I invite you to imagine the vibrant colors of a sunrise,
Filling your lungs with warmth and positivity.
Allow yourself to picture the sky transitioning from the dark blues and indigos to soft pinks and oranges,
The various hues transforming,
Welcoming a new day full of hope and possibilities.
Picturing that,
The warming colors of the sky as it transitions from night,
Pre-dawn,
And now dawn and the sun beginning to rise.
Allow this imagery to bring a sense of renewal and awakening to your mind and body,
And as you're visualizing this beautiful sky,
Imagine the rays of sunlight touching your skin,
The very first rays of the sunlight,
The sunrise,
Bringing a sense of lightness and clarity to your being,
Inhaling that in,
Filling your lungs,
Your belly rising,
Chest expanding.
Feel the warmth of the sun's energy radiating through your body,
Filling you with a renewed sense of purpose and vitality,
And then exhaling that back out into the world,
And allow yourself to do that again,
Breathing in through your nose,
Filling your lungs,
Belly rising,
Expanding,
Feeling the warmth of that sun filling your being,
And then exhaling it back out into the world.
Remember the words of Thich Nhat Hanh,
Every morning we are born again.
What we do today is what matters most.
Embrace this moment as a fresh start,
A chance to let go of yesterday's burdens,
And greet the day with an open heart and a clear mind.
Visualizing that,
Feeling that,
The possibility of the sunrise,
The warmth across your face,
The vibrant colors so often seen,
The various hues of pinks and oranges and reds,
As the sun begins to rise,
Feeling its warmth,
Allowing it to wash over you,
Breathing it in,
Filling your body.
With each breath,
Visualize yourself becoming more aligned with the natural cycles of the universe,
Just like the sunrise that signals the beginning of a new day.
Allow this connection to deepen your awareness of the present moment,
The infinite possibilities that lie ahead,
The promise of a new day,
The invitation of the sunrise,
Breathing in the warmth,
Filling your body,
Letting it go,
Exhaling it out,
Just allowing the sun,
The early part of the sunrise,
To warm you,
To embrace the possibilities,
Sense of renewal,
Awakening,
Promise of a new day,
Allowing yourself to bask in the colors of the sunrise,
Deepening your awareness,
Your awareness of this moment and the infinite possibilities that lie ahead,
The gift of a sunrise,
Gift of a new day.
On your next inhale,
I invite you to gradually bring awareness back to the present moment,
Back to your body.
I'm swinging your toes and fingers,
Inviting gentle stretches.
If your eyes are closed,
Perhaps fluttering them open,
Observing how your body feels.
Remember that each breath is an opportunity to start anew,
To cultivate hope and awaken to the beauty that surrounds you.
May you move through this day with grace and presence,
Just like the sunrise that paints the sky with colors of promise and renewal.
Just take a moment to express gratitude to yourself for showing up and practicing self-care and giving yourself this gift,
This gift of promise and renewal.
