"Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There" by Lewis Carroll, published in 1871, is the hilarious, much-beloved sequel to "Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland" (1865). In Chapter Nine, we meet 'Queen Alice'! Having crossed the final brook, Alice is suddenly a Queen — but Looking-Glass royalty comes with bewildering rules... The Red Queen and White Queen interrogate her with riddles, absurd etiquette, and impossible logic, correcting her constantly, as the world spins faster and stranger... Alice tries to behave properly, yet everything is backwards, prickly, and ever-more nonsensical... The chess game is nearly complete...and Alice’s coronation is certainly anything but calm...!
