If you're new to meditation or if your mind feels really busy today.
This is a really simple place to start.
There's nothing you need to force here.
And you don't need to empty your mind.
Meditation isn't about stopping your thoughts,
It's about becoming aware of them without getting pulled in.
Begin by finding a position that feels comfortable for you.
You don't need to sit cross-legged.
You can sit on a chair,
Lie down,
Or rest however feels right in your body.
When you're ready.
Gently close your eyes.
Bring your attention to your breath.
Just noticing the inhale.
The exhale.
There's no need to change it.
Just observe it as it is.
You might notice your mind starts to wander.
It's completely normal.
We all have an internal narrative,
Thoughts coming and going.
When that happens,
Gently bring your attention back to your breath.
No judgement.
Just noticing.
And returning.
You might like to begin to soften your breath slightly.
A gentle inhale.
And a slow easy exhale.
Letting the body begin to settle.
This is a space where you don't have to do anything.
Be anything.
Just allowing yourself to be here.
As you sit here you may notice thoughts,
Sensations or feelings arise.
Instead of getting caught in them,
Just observe them like watching clouds pass through the sky.
This is where meditation becomes really powerful.
You begin to see that you are not your thoughts.
You are the one observing them.
Now when you're ready.
Gently bring your awareness back to your body.
Back to the space around you.
And now slowly open your eyes.
You'd like to deepen your meditation practice.
Or learn how to guide others.
I share more inside my meditation teacher training.
But for now,
You can come back to this meditation anytime.
Thank you for joining me today.
I wish you wellness and joy.
