Welcome to my little Nile river,
Here in the Middle East.
And in the next few moments,
I will try and take you to a very interesting listening experience,
Where we invite all the layers of this soundscape to come to us.
We always tend to take for granted the soundscape around us,
The birds,
The winds,
The crickets,
And even trafficking humans.
So let's join together for this experience,
And just set intention to become a better listener.
So arrange your seat as comfortable as possible.
And when you're in your seat,
Or lying down,
Whatever is suitable for you right now,
Just roll your shoulders back.
Open space for your heart to come forward,
And take a gentle and deep inhale.
And as you exhale gently,
Draw your attention to the sound of the water.
And just let it grow on you.
And as the details start to reveal,
Connect to the feeling that arises,
The imagination it may spark.
And just listen,
Breathe gently.
Exhale,
Exhale.
And listen.
As the experience grows on you,
The mind slowly settles.
Gently move your breath to the background,
And concentrate only on listening to the environment around you.
The water,
The details it carries,
The drops,
The width of the image,
And the repetitive cycles that allow continuity and gentle changes to arise.
Inhale.
And exhale.
And listen.
Every time your mind wanders,
Come back to listening.
Come back to the water element.
And from there,
Just see yourself sitting in your body,
Listening to soundscape of nature,
Listening to the soundscape of life.
Concentrate on the details,
And gently shift your attention beyond the water.
Can you hear the crickets?
Can you notice the birds,
The doves,
The conversations?
Can you hear the flies?
The distant traffic?
So many layers of life span across a small stream of water.
Feel the richness,
The vibrance around your body now,
And how much of life energy?
Gently inhale.
And exhale.
And just listen.
This soundscape,
With all its details and changes,
Allows us many tools for concentrations,
For development of awareness around us,
And just be present in our life.
Every time your mind takes you,
See it as an opportunity to stay awake.
Come back to the river.
Come back to listening.
Come back home,
And embrace the opportunity to stay present.
As you continue listening,
Just scan your body and all its emotions,
Feelings that may arise,
And see if there's anywhere you can offer relief,
Awareness,
And just feel how this sound journey of running water and life around them can transform our reality,
Just by simple listening.
Just inhale.
Exhale.
Relax.
And listen.
Using listening as a tool for growth,
We can always close our eyes,
And just listen to everything around us,
Whatever it may be,
A water stream or traffic,
All of which offers a great opportunity to stop,
Listen,
And be present.
This journey took me five minutes to come.
And this water body that I sit right now with you,
We all listen to it together.
It's actually not so nice.
It has a lot of pollution.
It's pretty dirty.
But yet,
It offered me a refuge this morning,
And a healing space,
And an opportunity to feel nature,
To connect,
To hear the life around me.
Try to remember when was the last time you stopped for listening.
When was the last time you just heard life around you?
Gently,
Take your right hand to your heart,
And your left hand to the lower belly,
And feel what it feels like to sit here in this soundscape,
In this body,
And what a deep connection it may offer,
First to ourselves,
But also to the environment we live in.
And let's just set intention to become better listeners in our life,
How important it is to be able to stop and listen.
Let's just set intention to become better listeners in our life,
How important it is to be able to stop and listen.
Let's just set intention to become better listeners in our life,
And let's just set intention to become better listeners in our life,
And let's just set intention to become better listeners in our life,
And let's just set intention to become better listeners in our life,
And let's just set intention to become better listeners in our life.
