Hi,
I'm Wendy Harrington,
Author of From Vegas to the Pearly Gates.
This meditation is designed to help you experience greater peace,
Calm and joy.
Do not listen to this recording while driving or operating any machinery.
Instead find a comfortable place to lie down,
Somewhere where you will not be disturbed for the next 20 minutes or so.
As you are gently lying down,
Take a nice deep breath and let yourself begin to really rest into this moment right now.
I'd like you to start by thinking about your toes and just wiggle with your toes.
Take a nice deep breath and imagine that you are breathing right down to your toes.
Feel your whole body beginning to relax as you are taking these wonderful relaxing breaths.
Keep breathing nice and deeply and steadily.
Now think about your calves,
Your lower leg.
Breathe deeply into your calves and feel them relaxing.
Now think about your knees.
Take another really deep breath.
Imagine you are breathing in peace and breathing out any stress,
Worry or tension.
Think about your thighs now and feel them relaxing too,
Resting into where you were lying.
Feel your back resting on the bed or floor where you were lying.
Think about your torso.
Now your arms and your hands.
Just connect with your hands.
Take another deep breath.
Feel your hands relaxing as you breathe out.
Every breath you take bringing more relaxation to your body.
Now thinking about your head,
Your neck and your shoulders.
Breathing deeply into your neck and shoulders.
Maybe even wiggling your shoulders a little as you allow them to relax and let go.
Letting go of everything that you have been holding both consciously and unconsciously in your head,
Neck and shoulders.
Imagine your shoulders opening.
Imagine your arms getting longer as your shoulders relax.
Imagine your neck releasing any tension or holding.
Choosing now to let go completely of any contraction or tension in your body.
Just for a moment.
Knowing it's safe to let go.
Feel your body sinking deeper into the floor or bed where you were lying.
Take another beautiful deep breath into your body.
Filling yourself up completely.
Now say to yourself,
Peace.
Invite peace into your mind.
Keep breathing deeply and simply allow whatever arises.
So if any emotion arises,
Just keep breathing and simply let it be.
Any thoughts arise,
Just keep breathing and simply let them be.
Take your focus,
Your breath and just become the witness.
And so again,
Invite peace into your mind.
Let the world go for a moment.
Choosing to allow your mind to rest in peace.
Take another nourishing deep breath.
Think of all the amazing cells in your body and wish them peace.
Beautiful,
Tranquil peace.
Allow yourself for a moment to completely let go of everything,
Just for a moment.
It is safe to let go.
And as you rest into this feeling of safety,
You feel any concerns or worries just gently floating away.
Something to do with the world.
Any thoughts of the past,
Any thoughts of the future,
Just all drifting away,
Just for a moment.
So that you can completely rest in this moment right now.
Completely at peace.
Take another nourishing deep breath in.
Imagine that you are breathing in peace.
Every breath you take filling you with peace.
And every breath out you are just letting go a little bit more.
And now imagine that you have a tangerine on the top of your head.
The tangerine is slightly back from the crown of your head.
Imagine it there and keep breathing deeply and trusting that peace is becoming more and more of your experience right now.
There is nothing you need to do.
Nothing you need to try to do.
Nothing you need to let go of.
Simply focusing on your tangerine and just breathing.
Just watching.
Just listening.
Allowing whatever is arising to arise.
Any thoughts that arise just float past like a gentle boat on a lazy river.
Peace is completely effortless.
How would it be if you could realise that all of the effort comes from resisting peace?
From resisting joy?
From resisting unconditional love?
The truth is you are completely safe.
You are whole and complete.
There is nothing that you need to protect.
Nothing that you need to defend.
Taking wonderful gentle breaths.
Keep letting go.
Now imagine the earth in your mind's eye like you were watching it from space.
Imagine a beautiful web of light all around the earth.
On the earth there is pain and suffering,
Conflict and war.
For a moment just let it be.
See the web of light around it and simply focus on that.
As you are watching and gently breathing know that it is safe for you to relax.
That everything is connected.
And there is something far greater that connects all of these appearing individuals.
Begin to remember that you can experience yourself as part of this divine connection.
You can experience yourself as unconditional love.
Know that you do not need to concern yourself with the ground level problems.
Do not deny them but do not immerse yourself in them either.
Your role is to become love and share love.
And this is the most powerful thing you can do.
Focus on the web of light and see it getting brighter and brighter and brighter.
Imagine the earth now and see it like a big game of tag.
One huge school playground.
You have a choice.
You can align with fear and you can run around and tag people with that.
Or you can align with love and you can run around and tag people with that.
The choice is yours.
Choose love now.
Choose love for yourself.
Choose love for the world.
See the earth now and imagine more and more people choosing love.
See them running around and tagging each other with love.
See the increase in joy,
Happiness and laughter.
Remember how you can transform fear to love.
See clearly how if you run around and tag with fear you create more fear.
Understand fully how important it is to allow your mind to rest in unconditional love.
Without denial,
With clear seeing.
So that your heart is wide open.
Fully remember now that you do not need to defend anything.
Let go the past.
Let go your fear.
And choose instead to simply be unconditional love.
Take a nice deep breath.
And leave the game of tag now and return your focus to the web.
See it growing brighter and brighter.
See it growing brighter and brighter.
See it growing brighter and brighter.
And return your focus to the web,
See it growing brighter and stronger.
Now bring your awareness back to the tangerine on the top of your head,
Just behind your crown,
This point of witnessing form.
Imagine that the energy,
Wisdom and knowledge of the light web is pouring through your tangerine and into your logical mind.
Feeling your mind and body,
Every cell,
Every fibre of your being with pure unconditional love,
With eternal peace.
Keep breathing,
Keep relaxing,
Keep allowing expansion of your mind.
Keep allowing the remembrance of peace.
Thank you for all that you are,
All that you have done and all that you will do,
To share the message of peace and love.
Keep allowing yourself to be flooded with this incredible,
Loving essence from the web of light.
Gently breathing,
Gently receiving.
Gently opening your divine connection.
You are blessed,
You are appreciated,
You are loved.
Just keep allowing yourself to be filled with this divine love,
With this pure light.
Transforming,
Healing,
Awakening.
Now just gently say thank you for all that you have received.
And take a lovely deep breath,
Bring your awareness to your hands and to your feet,
To your toes and your fingers.
Just begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Gently start to have a stretch.
Remove your body.
And when you are ready,
Just open your eyes.
