John worked as a firefighter/paramedicfor 20 years and retired in 2017. Since then he has been certified as a meditation instructor by the Chopra Center for Well-Being in Carlsbad, CA and as a trained mindfulness coach by UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness. John founded Turn In, a nonprofit organization, in 2018 to advocate and teach mindfulness practices to first responders. His mission is to give first responders tools to have a healthy, happy career and retirement.
