Hi friend.
I wonder how many times you've said.
.
.
It's fine.
I don't mind.
Whatever you want.
I can do it.
When somewhere underneath those words.
You did mine.
You were tired.
You didn't want to,
Or something inside you was quietly asking.
What about me?
We can become so accustomed to being the woman who says yes.
The woman who helps.
Who adjusts.
Who makes it work?
Who doesn't want to disappoint anyone.
But after a while,
We stop noticing how often we disappoint ourselves.
So today,
We're not going to ask.
Anything more of you?
We're going to listen.
Listen to the voice underneath all those automatic yeses.
The one that may have gotten quieter over the years.
But never disappeared.
I invite you to take a slow breath in.
And an easy breath out.
And let yourself arrive here.
Not as the partner not as the mother.
The daughter,
The friend.
The one everyone counts on.
Just you my friend Let your shoulders soften.
Unclench your jaw.
And just let your hands rest.
And for the next few minutes.
You don't have to say yes to anyone.
You only have to listen to yourself.
Maybe you didn't lose yourself all at once.
Maybe it happened quietly.
And all the little yeses you gave when something inside you whispered.
No.
A yes here,
Another there.
So small you barely noticed.
Until one day,
You realized how far you had wandered from your own voice Maybe you learned to say it's fine when it wasn't.
I don't mind when you did.
Whatever you want,
When there was something you wanted to.
You folded your needs smaller and smaller.
Tuck them into quiet corners.
And made room for everyone else.
You became the keeper of peace.
The holder of the pieces.
The one who could stretch a little further.
Carry a little more.
And need a little less.
And perhaps no one noticed how much of yourself you were giving away.
And maybe you didn't notice either.
Because love can look so much like giving.
And giving can feel so much like goodness.
Until you begin to disappear inside.
Take a slow breath in.
And let it go.
There's nothing to regret here.
You loved the best way you knew how.
You showed up.
You stayed you carried You cared.
But you are allowed to put some things down now.
So I invite you to imagine sitting down all the things you were never meant to carry forever the need to keep everyone happy.
The fear of disappointing someone.
The belief that being needed is the same as being loved.
Place one hand over your heart.
Let there be a little more room inside you.
And in that space.
Listen.
There is a voice there,
Maybe faint.
Maybe unfamiliar.
But it's yours.
A voice that knows when you're tired A voice that knows when something no longer fits.
The voice that knows when enough is enough.
A voice that has been whispering.
What about me?
You don't have to answer her.
Just hear her.
The season of your life isn't asking you to become someone new.
It's asking you to stop walking away from yourself.
To notice the moment the body tightens before you say yes.
To feel the hesitation,
The heaviness.
Quiet knowing.
So instead of rushing past it.
Pause.
There is wisdom in the pause.
There is a whole woman waiting there.
A woman who is learning that no can be a sacred word.
That a boundary can be an act of tenderness.
That choosing yourself does not mean she has to stop loving anyone else.
You can love people deeply without leaving yourself behind.
Let those words find a place inside of you.
You can have a beautiful,
Generous heart.
Without handing every piece of it away.
Your no does not make you cold.
Or difficult.
Your limits do not make you less loving.
They make you human.
With your hands still over your heart.
Feel the rhythm of your breath.
And feel your heart beating.
It has carried you through so much.
Give it a moment to belong only to you.
And then ask yourself softly,
Where am I longing to say no?
Just listen,
Not for the answer you should give.
Before the one that feels true to you.
Just let yourself hear it.
Because hearing yourself is where coming home begins.
Maybe home is not a place you have to find.
It has been here all along.
Beneath the noise.
The obligations,
And every yes,
You didn't mean It's been waiting for you to choose yourself without apology.
To trust what you feel and to let know be know.
And yes.
PS.
And maybe.
.
.
Midlife offers us not a road back.
But a doorway inward.
One honest no.
One true yes.
One boundary,
One breath.
One small act of choosing yourself at a time.
Come home.
You have spent enough time making room for everyone else.
There is room for you here,
Too.
