Hi,
Jarlan.
That was way harsh.
Don't talk to yourself like that.
Are you repeating those words to yourself right now?
If not,
Let's say them together.
That was way harsh.
Don't talk to yourself like that.
Now I want to ask you,
How did that feel?
Take a moment to notice.
And as feelings and thoughts arise,
Meet them exactly where you are today.
Maybe you're sitting at work.
Standing in front of the mirror.
Lying on your bed or stretched out on the floor.
Perhaps you're taking this meditation with you while walking.
Folding laundry,
Cleaning.
Or maybe,
Just maybe,
You're at the beach.
Wherever you are,
Let it be enough.
Enough to help you notice the words you say to yourself.
Because so many of us speak to ourselves like critics.
Fashion critics.
Book critics.
Life critics.
Yet we rarely speak to our loved ones the way we speak to ourselves.
We see their value.
We see their goodness.
We offer them grace.
So why is it sometimes so difficult to offer the same to ourselves?
Today's practice.
Is something different.
Today we're going to interrupt.
The negative self-talk and replace it with compassion,
With kindness,
With words that help us grow instead of shrink.
So now I ask you to silently,
In your mind or.
.
.
Maybe even out loud.
Say something kind to yourself.
Maybe it's.
.
.
I'm enough.
You I'm doing the best I can.
Or perhaps your heart has its own words waiting to be heard.
So take a moment.
And offer yourself.
Something beautiful.
Now I want you to imagine all the harsh words you've collected about yourself.
Written across a giant chalkboard.
Every criticism.
Every judgment.
Every not enough.
I want you to see them there.
And now with each breath.
The gentle rain begins to fall.
And as the rain.
Balls.
It slowly starts to wash the chalk away.
Line by line.
Word by word.
Breath.
By breath.
Until the board is clean.
Clear and open.
Notice what it feels like to watch those old words disappear Perhaps you feel lighter.
Relieved may be hopeful.
Or maybe you're simply aware of a little more space inside of you.
Whatever you're feeling.
Just let it be enough.
Just breathe.
Allowing the release to flow.
And remember.
The way you speak to yourself matters.
Take a slow breath in.
Let it go.
And if you are moving.
Pause just for a moment.
And if you're still.
.
.
Gently raise your hands.
And give yourself.
Hug.
Receive the goodness you've just offered yourself Let it settle into your heart.
And before we close.
Say one more kind thing to yourself.
And listen.
Listen to the goodness.
Listen to the compassion.
Listen to the voice beneath the criticism.
Take a deep breath in.
And let it out.
You,
My darling,
Are worthy.
You are loved.
And I see you.
From my heart to yours.
Much love.
