Worksheet
The Unlocking Your Erotic Imagination Worksheet invites clients to explore fantasy as a vital source of aliveness, pleasure, and intimacy—rather than a substitute for what's missing. Developed in collaboration with couples therapist Esther Perel, the worksheet helps therapists guide clients in normalizing fantasy, examining what their imagination reveals about deeper needs, and reframing the erotic mind as a resource for connection.

This worksheet opens with psychoeducation on the role of fantasy in a healthy erotic life, then moves into reflective prompts that help clients name and unpack a recurring fantasy. Clients explore what the fantasy means, whether they want to act on it, and what underlying need it meets—making it a powerful tool for self-understanding in or between sessions.
This worksheet is ideal for individuals or couples wanting to reconnect with desire, reduce shame around fantasy, or understand what their erotic imagination reveals about unmet needs. It's especially helpful for clients who associate fantasy with deficiency, secrecy, or guilt and want a structured way to explore it.
