Whether you're competing against yourself or competing against others in sport,
When the timer is on,
A capable agile body paired with a calm,
Meticulous,
And hyper-focused mind is a dangerous combination for your opponent.
It is the proven energetic fusion that can unlock the secrets of your greatest potentials,
Your growth,
And your ultimate success.
And to achieve this required state of calm,
You'll see for yourself is a simple task,
Which we can practice here where there are absolutely no pressures.
So that we can really understand what it means to encompass a state of calm here as we prepare to part from the physical realm during this time.
I welcome you to this relaxation experience as you implement these new positive self-beliefs along with acquiring necessary abilities to turn within.
Soon you may realize that you are not only calmer during competition,
But also that you truly feel more relaxed throughout your day.
So just give yourself full permission now to enjoy this relaxing time.
So as this meditative state is building,
What I would suggest is to find a comfortable space to rest your body,
Preferably lying back or sitting back.
However you choose to position yourself is best.
If you've not done so,
You can just allow your eyes to gently close.
And however much you're already preparing to explore the deeper parts of your personal relaxation.
You might like to focus your attention for now on the thought of another ambitious creature who is,
Like yourself,
Very wise,
Coming in the form of a calm and elegant tiger.
The tiger typically goes for its hunt in the night when its prey is also awake.
But what really makes them so sensible is that when the hunt is over,
And the tiger knows when the hunt is over,
It saves its mental and physical energy and gives itself permission to retreat.
When resting,
The tiger doesn't worry about what it will eat in the coming week.
It just knows that its survival instincts are unwavering,
And so its thoughts are on relaxation,
Basking in the sun,
Soaking up its warmth without a care.
So as you're resting there in the comfortable position you've chosen for yourself,
It happens to be a moment in time when you have made the decision to focus on your own relaxation.
And you're able to hear certain sounds,
And you may even hear other sounds in the background.
And as you may notice these other sounds,
Regardless of how quiet or faint,
You may also become aware of how easy it would be to let go of any tension in your body,
Just completely letting go.
Knowing to be faintly aware of those other sounds,
Perhaps focusing on very relaxing songs,
Sounds,
Musical notes,
Vibrations,
With the passing of time,
Somehow these things steadily inspire you to just relax so that you can imagine as you relax your body now that you are already developing the ability to allow your unconscious mind to prepare for a deep meditative state where,
Rest assured,
You are safe to relax.
You may have already noticed your breathing deepening,
Inspiring you to notice the rhythm,
The ebb,
And the flow as you choose to take in some even more relaxing deep breaths here.
Very good.
And any noises that you may hear in the background will now simply act as signals,
Guiding you deeper down into relaxation.
And I don't know whether you are beginning to notice even more relaxed sensations every time you exhale,
But you may have noticed that with each out breath,
Any tension is released from your body and from your awareness.
You might wish to watch thoughts as they come.
You could acknowledge them,
Letting them drift,
Just allowing your unconscious to do the experiencing as we get ready to drift deeper,
Entranced into the moment,
Beginning to expand out,
Expanding farther,
Inviting even more peace,
Even more.
You might begin to notice drifting farther and farther that your muscles are becoming more and more completely at ease,
More and more relaxed,
Allowing the mind to breathe and the physical to become serene without having much of an idea as to just how much more comfortable one could feel.
Continuing to do so,
Perhaps you'd like to drift even deeper using the help of your imagination.
You might like to imagine in your own way that there is a spotlight or a concentrated beam of light beginning to form at your feet.
And wherever this beam of light goes,
It delivers healing,
Rejuvenation,
And positive energy all the way down to a cellular level.
And you can enjoy the tension releasing completely.
And so the light begins by illuminating your toes and feet,
Moving through the arches.
And it too now relaxes your ankles completely.
It travels up from your ankles and through your calves,
Through your knees,
Into your thighs,
Noticing any tension and just allowing it to dissolve.
You may have observed that your feet and your legs have become heavy and filled with relaxation now that they are ready.
The light moves through your hips,
Easing any tension,
Concentrating on this part of the body,
Just allowing the muscles to release.
Feeling light shifting to your torso,
Feeling your lower back,
Your abdomen,
And your chest.
And while your attention remains on these parts of your body,
Tell your lower back,
Abdomen,
And chest that they can let go now,
Allowing your focus to transition to the upper back and shoulders as the light fills them with calming energy,
Telling them that they can now let go completely.
The light begins to illuminate your upper arms,
Expanding down as you begin to feel the sensation of your elbows and forearms,
Wrists and hands releasing tension.
And you can tell them to fully let go now,
Noticing a heavy relaxation running through both arms from the point just down below your neck,
All the way down to your toes,
Ready and drifting off into a state of calm.
Because the only thing that matters is knowing that total relaxation is approaching.
And without having much of an idea as to just how much more deeply down relaxed you could really feel,
The beam of light illuminates your neck and throat.
And now the crown of your head,
Relaxing the muscles of your scalp with any tension in the face beginning to lift as it eases the muscles of your mouth,
The muscles of your jaw,
The muscles of your cheeks,
The muscles of your nose,
Eyes and forehead.
And you can tell the muscles of your neck,
Scalp and face,
Tell them all that they can now let go entirely.
I wouldn't know what deep measures your body is now completely relaxed,
Perhaps even levels outside of one's own awareness,
The innermost comforts continuing to be enjoyed as all other sensations of serenity encompass you from your head all the way down to your toes,
Ready in all ways to enter complete and total relaxation.
So in a moment,
I will count from 11 down to one.
And you can allow yourself to imagine that you are moving down your own staircase.
And at the bottom of the stairs,
You will find a beautiful rug beneath a magnificent throne where you can take your seat.
So with each descending number you hear while the mind descends,
Floating and drifting,
Seat deeper and deeper.
And when we reach the count of one,
You will be all the way down the stairs and taking a seat on your throne.
You will find yourself deeply comforted and relaxed.
Feeling safe and sound more so than you have in a very long time.
So deeply relaxed as you take your seat on the throne.
Starting with number 11,
Starting to make your way down the stairs at your own pace.
10,
Feeling so relaxed,
Calm and peaceful,
Going deeper as you descend.
9,
Deeper and deeper,
Down and down.
8,
Such feelings of peacefulness.
7,
Even more so.
6,
Halfway down the staircase.
4,
And feeling so tranquil and so calm.
3,
Deeper and deeper,
Just another step down before.
2,
You are all the way down the staircase now,
Standing on the rug,
Beginning to approach your seat.
1,
Fully entranced in relaxation,
Having taken your seat,
So deeply submerged,
Feeling so incredible,
As the light now fills the space with positive,
Radiant energy.
Softening as it prepares you,
As you strengthen the following beliefs,
Adopting them as your own.
You could internally repeat them to yourself as you feel how it feels to adopt these beliefs completely now.
I am strong and becoming even stronger each day.
I am at peace.
I can handle anything that comes my way.
I choose to recognize my infinite potential.
In competition,
My mind is focused.
I am committed to putting in the work.
I commit to the achievement of excellence.
I believe that I can and I will.
Confidence runs through me.
I am open to experimenting with new techniques and strategies.
It is becoming easier and easier to achieve relaxation.
I can put myself into the zone.
I visualize myself achieving all of my goals.
I choose to focus my attention on solutions.
I am learning how to soothe myself by breathing deeply.
I choose to believe in myself and I recognize my value.
I choose to love and accept myself completely.
Each time I train,
I learn something new and valuable.
I apply what I have learned to my practice.
I choose to respect myself.
I choose to show respect to others.
I hold myself fully responsible for my success.
I deserve to achieve my goals.
My instincts are heightened when under pressure.

Allow yourself to strengthen them to the maximum capacity by using your unique visualization style.
And I'd like for you to imagine that there is a screen beginning to appear in front of you.
And on this screen,
You can begin to see yourself in third person.
You are thriving and achieving your athletic goals.
Viewing yourself exactly as you desire to be in the ideal image of yourself.
Calm,
Skilled,
Self-assured,
Determined,
And confident.
Fully focused and with sharp instincts.
You are there to use the skills you've developed and your performance is impeccable.
You are in the zone.
You are unstoppable.
Acting as an observer,
View yourself on the screen and imagine how that version of you is feeling.
Allow yourself here to feel those wonderful feelings.
Feelings of pride.
This skilled athlete,
What do they see with their eyes?
How do they move?
How do they feel?
Go ahead and take a few moments to further develop the scene as you truly enjoy these images and feelings now.
Good,
Nice and easy now.
Great.
Feeling both mentally and physically equipped.
Instinctively knowing that you have what it takes to achieve these goals.
Let these images inspire you.
Feeding your determination.
Visualize your goals often.
As they are achieved,
You will set new goals for yourself.
Allow these updated goals to be the images that you become acquainted with.

All the whilst entering your most vivid intentions.

This brings me back to the thought of the tiger who is collected and relaxed.
Not just because it believes,

Seeing the eyes.
