Hello and welcome.
This meditation is an infusion of breath awareness,
Energy cleansing through your breath and Reiki.
With energy all around us it's only natural that we take in and absorb all the different energies that surround us in everyday life.
Our breath acts as a gateway to all systems,
Functions and organs in our body and is vital to our health and well-being.
We can alter our breathing and through mindful intention we can use our breath to release any built-up tension we have stored within ourselves as well as releasing any energy we may have picked up along the way that isn't our own.
Find a comfortable position,
This could be lying or sitting down and as you close your eyes allow the surface beneath you to carry the weight of your body.
Know you are safe here in this place of stillness in the present moment.
You are safe.
Bring your awareness to your breath observing where in your body your breath enters.
Letting go of the desire to control or change your breathing and instead surrender to the natural flow and rhythm of your inhale and exhale.
Feeling the gentle rise and fall of your belly,
The expansion of your ribs and chest as your breath moves in and out.
Noticing the movement through your body as you breathe,
The temperature of your breath,
The coolness as it enters through your nose and the warmth of your exhale.
Notice the sound of your breath and just staying here a moment observing all the sensations you are feeling within your body as you breathe.
Bring your hands into gassho,
The prayer position at your heart chakra.
Pausing here a moment to take in some deep cleansing breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth and with your next inhale hold it at the top and envision your breath traveling up and opening your crown chakra and as you slowly release your breath picture a golden white light illuminating through your crown chakra.
Seeing yourself through your third eye as this golden white light is enveloping you with unconditional love and life force energy that is Reiki.
Taking your hands from the prayer position and placing them where they feel most comfortable.
You may feel called to put one on your heart and the other on your belly or simply have them by your sides.
Bring your attention to your inhale,
Visualize the breath entering and trickling slowly through your body and with each inhale it travels further into the depths of your physical being,
Gently encompassing all your muscles,
Organs and cells as it soaks in this golden white light.
See your breath traveling down your spine and unlocking all the tension that lies intertwined between each vertebrae.
Observing your breath as it continues down through the joints of your hips,
Into your legs and feet,
Down your shoulders and into your hands and fingertips.
Allow yourself to notice where you feel energy might be stuck and gently guide your breath to this area,
Imagining your inhale unwinding all the tension and being released through your exhale.
Trusting in your breath as your body breathes you and you breathe your body.
Coming into your auric field and starting at your crown chakra,
Working down towards your feet,
Imagine all the energies that have found a home in your aura that you've picked up along the way from people or places,
Being collected in sweeping gathering motions.
Envision a vacuum at the base of your hands and feet,
Gently pulling and capturing all the tension that has just been unlocked from your aura and physical body and feel it being released and set free.
In the same way in which we absorb energies we also give our own willingly or unwillingly to people or certain situations.
Breathing deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth lovingly call back all your energy that you've gifted away or that you've left behind in different places and allow it to fill all the pockets of recently vacated space within you.
Feeling the lightness and the energy that is all your own flowing freely and uninterrupted through your body and as you stay in this realm of stillness I'm going to leave you a moment to bathe in this golden white light that is Reiki.
Bringing yourself back into the present moment where you may be awakening to a new day,
Taking time out of the middle of your day or using this meditation to unwind in the evening.
I want to leave you with the Reiki ideals to help you come back to center.
You may wish to follow along in your mind or voice them out loud.
Just for today I will not worry.
Just for today I will not be angry.
Just for today I will be grateful.
Just for today I will do my work honestly.
Just for today I will be kind to every living thing.
