Tammy Lawrence-Cymbalisty guides you through a progressive relaxation. Release your day and allow the body to sink into relaxation. Feel the energy of your body and focus on the sensations arising in the feet. As the body rests you'll be invited to revisit places you have walked upon Mother Earth. It's a great way to mentally return to some familiar locations from your near or distant past while enjoying relaxation and calm. Offer gratitude for your feet and life experience.

Just like an onion,

We hold so many different layers.

So let's peel back a few more together.

Breathing in,

As you breathe out,

Let the body sink even more deeply into a comfortably relaxed state.

Let's go.

Relax more fully your scalp,

The back of the head,

The sides of the head,

That big brown muscle across your forehead,

Softening the temple flesh,

Your eyes,

The nose,

The upper and lower sinus cavity,

The upper and lower cheeks,

And your jaw,

The neck,

Your shoulders,

And now right down into the arms,

The hands,

And the fingers.

It feels so comfortable to let go,

As if you're offering yourself a mini retreat,

A vacation,

Delving deeper into yourself.

So continue.

Relax your chest and abdomen,

The pelvic floor,

Your hips,

The thighs,

The knees,

The shin bones,

The ankles,

The feet,

And your toes.

Exhale and let go even more.

As you now become aware of your hands,

Sense both of the hands together,

Feel the heat,

Maybe a tingling sensation in the palms,

And now your feet.

Sense both of the feet together,

Whatever sensations exist there,

Maybe warmth or tingling sensations in your feet.

And speaking of your feet,

Take a moment to give gratitude to them for supporting you on your journey through life thus far.

And you may even take a few moments just to see,

Sense,

Feel,

Or imagine the places that your feet have been.

And if you like,

Take the next couple of minutes and just recall places that you have walked on this earth.

Maybe there's an ocean that you've been close to before,

Or a stream,

A river,

A mountain range,

Times when you walked down a street past shops or shop owners,

Maybe places you walked when you were a child.

So begin to see,

To sense,

Imagine,

And feel as if you're sending love and energy to all of the places that you have walked during your time on this earth.

And if you find yourself becoming distracted,

Simply return the awareness to the body,

To the physical sensations of relaxation and letting go.

And without judgment,

Just breathe and relax and bring your focus back to your feet.

All of these beautiful places that you've walked through and on,

Consider all of the places you've taken steps,

Maybe it's around your home,

Your childhood home,

Your teenage home,

Your current home,

Wherever it might be,

All of those places,

These beautiful feet have stepped.

Imagine walking in gratitude.

Such a beautiful journey so far.

Very good.

And now softly bring the focus back to the physical body,

Scanning,

Noticing any areas of warmth or coolness,

Those temperature fluctuations or differences.

Notice the breath coming and going.

And as you feel ready,

Start to allow movement to unfold,

Starting to wiggle the fingers,

The toes,

Invite yourself to receive a nice long stretch of the body,

Maybe swoop your arms up and overhead,

A yawn or a sigh or a wiggling around as you allow yourself to be back,

Ready to take the next step into your day.
