As singers,
We tend to get very stressed out before we sing.
So it's really important to relax the whole body and the mind before a performance.
And the best way to do this is through meditation.
This 15-minute meditation will help you to relax and get ready for your performance or your practice and help you to feel rejuvenated and sing with ease.
And the joy and flow will come through your breath and music as you perform and practice your songs.
So I'd like for you to sit up straight with the flat back,
Shut your eyes,
And let's do a little brief visualization.
I want you to visualize that you are on a stage.
You can create your own stage.
It can be big stage,
Little stage,
Spotlight on you,
Open your eyes,
You can see the people out in the audience or keep your eyes shut and just stay inside of your body.
But visualize you're on the stage and you feel that joy that comes through the body before singing.
And you're feeling that joy flow through your body from the bottom of your toes all the way up your body and out the top of your head.
It's like a light.
Choose a color and imagine that color going through your body and expressing the joy that you experience as an artist,
As a singer,
As a performer.
So you're standing there on the stage and the music starts and you feel it,
The vibrations of the music just pulsating through your body.
You open your mouth and out comes the sound that you've been practicing,
That you've been working on,
That you've been dreaming of coming out in the perfect way,
On the perfect day,
On the perfect stage.
And you feel exhilarated because there's no better feeling than when that note comes flying out of the body into the audience,
Around the room,
And that just wonderful feeling of joy and happiness of sharing your gift with others and enjoying it for yourself.
So I want you to sit in that for a minute,
That feeling.
And then what I want you to do is to start to breathe in through your nose for four beats,
Out for four beats.
So in two three four,
Out two three,
In two three four,
And out two three.
I want you to continue doing this for the next few minutes and just listen to the music and let it take your breath on a voyage that your voice is going to go on when you're performing and singing and happy and joyful and on the stage.
So relax into it and remember to breathe two three four,
And out two three four.
I'll let you go on your own and at the end of the meditation you'll hear my voice and I'll take you out of it.
Enjoy.
Coming back to your breath with your breathing in two three four,
And out two three four.
I want you to notice the changes in your body.
Do you feel more relaxed,
More calm,
More peaceful?
This will prepare you for what's coming next.
Whether you're performing or practicing or you're just using this meditation to have a wonderful beautiful day,
The goal is to feel calm,
Peaceful,
Relaxed.
So one more time,
Breathing in two three four,
And out two three four.
Take a nice breath and hold it in two three four.
Sighing it out.
This is the end of your meditation.
I hope you have a blessed day.
