Do not listen to this recording whilst operating a moving vehicle or operating machinery.
Let go of any expectations you may have about this session and allow yourself to be present in the moment and to enjoy.
All you have to do is listen to the sound of my voice throughout and if your attention wanders just gently bring it back.
Find a quiet space to sit or lie down and if you are sitting ensure that your spine is erect and that your feet are flat on the floor.
If you are lying down choose a firm surface and connect your spine with the surface beneath you.
Move your arms out to the side with palms facing upwards.
Move your legs a little so that they are wide apart and let ankles and feet relax to the side.
Let all external distractions fade away.
So let's begin by just making yourself comfortable.
Getting yourself into a comfortable position and when you have found that comfortable position just allow your eyes to completely close and take a deep breath and allow that breath to move gently in and out as you begin to relax your body.
Now turn your attention to your body and begin to focus on the very top of your head and above your head notice a beautiful expanse of wonderful warm golden white light.
It's such a beautiful light and you can visualize or sense that wonderful endless expanse of healing light and as you notice that light you begin to be aware of that light moving down towards the top of your head touching your scalp and moving over your head and face and as it does so you notice that all the muscles in your scalp begin to soften and relax.
Every fiber of every muscle softening and relaxing easily and gently and that light moves down through your face and as it gently touches every part of your skin everywhere that light touches makes your muscles relax.
You find all the tiny muscles in your face flattening out and softening even your jaw relaxes and softens and as the light moves slowly down into your neck area softening all the muscles of the neck and into your shoulders allowing your shoulders to drop as all the tension drops out of your body out and away from you gently and easily and it is impossible to hold any tension in your face or shoulders whatsoever as all the muscles relax and let go.
Slowly you feel or visualize that light moving down into your arms your upper arms your elbows your lower arms wrists and every part of your hands even into the tips of your fingers letting go as all that tension moves out from the tips of your fingers and away from you and that light begins to move down through your body into your upper back and your chest and you feel all the muscles in your upper back relaxing gently and easily you become so heavy and comfortable as all the muscles and tendons let go no tension whatsoever even the tiny vertebrae of your spine is letting go and becoming completely comfortable and as that light touches your chest your ribs and diaphragm let go of any tension and your breathing is deep relaxed and easy and the light moves down into your mid-back that wonderful warm light flowing easily and gently bringing release to every muscle as even the vertebrae in the spine lets go of any tension and it flows easily out and away that light washing away any tension so that you feel so calm relaxed and comfortable and the light moves around into your mid-stomach and your lower stomach and into your lower back all the muscles and vertebrae letting go seeing or sensing that wave of light washing over you removing any tension any discomfort so that you become deeply relaxed your muscles becoming soft and heavy easily letting go no tension whatsoever and now again into your lower stomach and back all the muscles and the vertebrae are letting go no tension whatsoever as your body becomes so relaxed and so calm and comfortable and if you notice any aches or pains in any part of your body anything that stops you being completely relaxed and comfortable just be aware of it and then let it go just be aware of it and move it away from you now and now that wonderful warmth and light moves into your pelvis hips and buttocks into the muscles which soften and let go and then all the way down into your legs your upper legs becoming heavy and so comfortable as you relax each muscle and your legs begin to become heavy your knees and your lower legs that gentle light that's warmth making it impossible to hold any tension in the legs whatsoever letting go easily and gently as your legs become heavier and even more relaxed and now all the way down into your feet all those tiny muscles in your feet the top of your feet the bottom of your feet all the way down into your tips of your toes relaxing as that wonderful golden light touches and heals until your whole body is so comfortable and so relaxed every part of your body all letting go letting go until your whole body is comfortable and relaxed and now the body is relaxed gently bring the focus of attention back to the breath just turn your attention to your breathing for the next few moments and you breathe in allowing that breath to move in gently and allow the whole of the lungs to expand easily and naturally not forced or rushed in any way and I want you to take three deep breaths now at your own relaxed pace hold that breath for a couple of seconds and as you breathe out you may be able to visualize or sense that flow and gentle movements of air and allow that breath to be relaxed and finding this comes naturally and easily to you as you breathe in you are breathing in peace and every time you breathe out you're breathing away from you any stress or tensions of the day breathing in love breathing out anything at all that does not serve you breathing in peace breathing away from you anything at all that has caused you any stress or anything that prevents complete harmony of the mind and body naturally and easily as that breath brings you to a deep state of relaxation so natural gentle and easy I want you to now know love to know love is to recognize what it is not which is fear love is understanding fear is not understanding love is to connect fear is to disconnect so to understand whatever whoever a situation or a person love comes from a feeling of expansion from the chest area breathe into your chest and notice your heart feel your heart pumping away and beating connects with this feeling keep breathing slow deep breaths in and out very slowly take the breath in the two and out for two keep breathing in this way until you feel a shift a shift that feels outside of you notice this feeling outside of you it will come from your body notice this feeling observe the quality look feel hear even taste the quality of this feeling bring these observations to surround you let them surround and encompass you stay with them for a few moments embody them bring to mind a place situation item or person that has been troubling you and infuse them or it with these observations I'll be quiet whilst you do so how has the place situation item or person changed acknowledge this change even say it out aloud visualize the change feel the change then rest with this change in your heart knowing that it will be with you and in your world when the meditation is over so now slowly bring your awareness back to the room becoming more aware of your body of the chair of the bed wherever you are of the room itself and of people if they are there within the room reconnecting fully with your body now begin to wiggle your fingers and toes bringing your awareness into the room and coming back feeling fully awake relaxed and feeling wonderful as you slowly open your eyes
