This poem was written after a morning walk in the woods near my house. I was pondering life and where I was in the moment. There were so many things to notice, and this poem is the result of the noticing.

Momentum.

As I walk through the woods,

My eyes grazing over the foliage,

And the sunlight as it makes its way through the trees,

My mind wanders.

I hear the sounds of an author bringing life to their story and sharing it with me.

My ears absorb.

One step follows the next as I gain momentum and make my way through this place.

My feet guide.

I stop to take inventory of what is in my head and in my body.

My stillness resonates.

I ingest the wisdom in stillness,

In things unseen,

In forces unknown,

And I take another step,

Moving along the path set before me,

My understanding secure.
