Ancient Roots

Ancient Roots was recorded on a low contrabass flute which runs 9' in total tube length, inside The Tank, located in Rangely, CO. The Tank is a large empty water cistern originally built decades ago for the railway system, abandoned, then later discovered and moved to Rangely to become a recording studio and performance space.

Besides the deeply resonating flute, you will also hear breathing and key clicks from the large keys on the contrabass, all original sounds captured in the moment.
