River Ambience
by Ryan Garner
This is the sound of a river travelling through a tunnel, which adds this subtle natural reverb to it. I was able to crawl inside the tunnel and place my microphones and equipment inside. I was curious to see what the river sounds like as it sweeps through the tunnel. With the subtle reverb, it almost sounds a little metallic at some points. It was a bit of an experiment, but I quite enjoyed the results. It was nice to try something different when recording a river and capture something a little more diverse. Plus, this isn't how we would generally experience hearing running water, so I thought it was unique in that respect too. The combination of burbling, bubbling, popping and reverb from within the tunnel make for an interesting combination I think.
