Rain Falling - Rhubarb Leaves.

My neighbour, Michael, is sadly no longer with us.

He was a lovely man & always out in his garden growing various fruits and vegetables.

At the bottom of his garden, he has a very impressive Rhubarb growing. This was his pride and joy.

Following his passing, his wife has kept the Rhubarb in the garden. Each year it comes back and reminds me of the many conversations I had with him about gardening and plants.

Something that I love is the sound of the rain on the Rhubarb plant. It's not a sound many would normally notice, but I have somehow over the years.

So, I decided to record the pitter patter and rhythmic sounds of the rain falling on the Rhubarb & left the equipment under the canopy of the plant overnight to capture this sound.

I hope you enjoy the sounds as much as I do.

I've just had this playing on repeat, it's lovely. Thank you for sharing your rhubarb story. It makes me think of the rhubarb patch my parents had when we lived in Wales. I imagine different sounds on different leaves could be a whole study in itself 🍁🍂🍃☘️🌿🌱
