Frog Pond Ambience
by Ryan Garner
I was recently going over to a friend's house & they advised that the frogs that live in their pond were particularly noisy. They know I love recording sounds and asked me if I wanted to bring my equipment over to leave in the garden whilst we had coffee. I never miss an opportunity, so I left my microphone next to the pond on arrival. I looked out of the window and it looked like one of the frogs was resting its head on my wind jammer (a piece of fluff that covers the microphones to protect them from wind). On listening back, I could hear many frogs, including the one that had its head resting on the wind jammer. I like to imagine it was using the wind jammer as a cushion for a while. I've never heard frogs this close up before so I thought I would share it here for others to hopefully enjoy too. I also enjoy the birds in the background and the occasional sweeping sound of the wind rustling through the nearby bamboo that circles the pond.
