Experimental Ambience - Tongue Drum In The Rain
by Ryan Garner
This was recorded with two hydrophones attached to my steel tongue drum & a separate pair of stereo microphones to catch the overall rain sound separately. I then mixed these together in post production to merge the sound of the rain falling & the steel tongue drum being "played" by the rain as it hit the instrument. I pretty much did this to experiment, and purely out of curiosity. However, I quite liked the ambience it created and thought others may too. Granted, it's a little obscure and unique, so it may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I'm hoping somebody else may enjoy this too perhaps.
