Details

Amid the rolling hills, sun-dappled olive groves, and timeless villages, this retreat offers a slow and gentle way to experience Tuscany. Our home for the week is a family villa and regenerative farm. Here, life moves in rhythm with the land, and every detail—from the restored stone villa to the homegrown meals—is rooted in care. Created for introverted, sensitive, and neurodivergent people, you’ll be in an environment that fosters real connection. And your social rhythms and sensory needs will be honored every step of the way. Through yoga, and immersion in nature and Tuscan life, you’ll find your own pace, reset your nervous system, and rediscover the strength that helps you sustain your care for others—and yourself.

Le Pianore Agriturismo is nestled between the sea and the slopes of Monte Amiata at 734 m (2,408 ft) in the town of Monticello Amiata. This is the heart of the wild Tuscan Maremma—an idyllic place to pause and savor the rhythm of rural life. The villa is steeped in history, with a lovingly restored farmhouse and cottage dating back to the 700s and 1100s. Newer structures include an energy-efficient straw house and a spacious yurt. The farm produces many fruits and vegetables, extra-virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, wine, grappa, honey, and artisanal preserves. These ingredients are woven into meals and experiences, offering guests a true taste of Tuscany. The Farmhouse features 7 bedrooms. Almost all have private bathrooms and direct access to the gardens. The Strawhouse has 2 rooms, each with 2 twin beds and a private bathroom. Built of wood and straw according to principles of green building, it is completely energy self-sufficient. The Fienile Cottage is a two-story building with private bathroom, kitchenette, and bedroom with 1 queen and 1 twin bed. The Yurt comes with 1 double bed, 2 twin beds, and a beautiful private bathroom a few steps away. It is nestled in the woods, with a skylight and large windows looking out to the greenery. Thanks to the elevation and building design, A/C isn’t needed—nights cool to around 60°F / 16°C.

Meals provided

Breakfast · Lunch · Dinner

Diets catered

Vegan · Vegetarian · Gluten-free · Dairy-free · Organic · Nut Allergy Friendly

Meals highlight the flavors of Tuscany and are created with fresh, seasonal ingredients from the farm’s organic gardens and other local producers. The menu is mostly vegetarian, though meat dishes are also served. Most dietary needs can be accommodated. All meals with the exception of two lunches during outings are included.

Schedule

Mornings begin with a gently energizing yoga class before breakfast. Each day varies in order to offer a balance of outings to hilltop towns, culture and land immersion at the retreat, and plenty of time to relax and explore on your own. We have two fuller days out, but the days preceding and following these longer outings offer more downtime. Most days offer restorative yoga session and reflection circle before dinner.

Testimonials

info

The thing I appreciated the most was Melissa’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion. I have mobility issues and I never felt like I couldn’t do something because of it, especially the yoga classes. I have been practicing yoga on and off for about 18 years and I have NEVER had a yoga teacher as invested in making yoga this accessible as Melissa.

Jackie P., USA

The common denominator across all the retreats organised by Melissa is her attentive, caring, fun, and professional and warm approach that cascades down to any group she leads and to the partners she works with. Melissa puts everyone at ease and in the right mindset.

Ale C., Italy

Melissa sets everyone at ease without fuss. She arranges supportive yoga sessions and encourages adventures out on your own. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed. Lifelong friendships were forged and forever memories engraved on my heart.

Denise L., USA

Melissa is way more than just a trip organizer, she goes above and beyond to connect people together and creates an atmosphere of open-mindedness with other travelers, local people, and local experiences.

Stephanie K., USA

Melissa's yoga retreat was healing for me, due largely to her radiant empathy, careful planning, and competent group facilitation. I arrived as a bundle of nervous anxiety and grief and left feeling hope and joy. That feeling has sustained for the days I have been back home. I am grateful to have been with this group under her guidance and would eagerly do another retreat with her.

Arlene A., USA

The Retreat was everything I could have hoped for. Meaningful connections were made in a beautiful, natural environment which was perfect for relaxation and retrospection.

Mandi S., UK

This trip was one of a kind experience for me. I felt very connected with land, the people, the peers, the animals, the food and to the nature. Melissa is very easy going, understanding, and helpful person. Her support and guidance made my experience unique.
