Moonlit pains is a poem from my upcoming book, 'divine timing'. This poem resonates with me during times of learning how to cohabitate the blessings with the lessons that encompass our human lives. Poem recitation includes background music.

Unfamiliar with the new me,

I am grieving the old me too.

So much has changed now.

It feels like instead of my old skin,

There's smooth velvet,

Blanketed over steel shield.

Molding unbreakability cloaked upon contoured softness.

It taught me how God exists within the bond in between.

By the lights of the Maasai villages,

I learned of the African savannah.

It is a place where life and death is governed during the absence of sun.

In a vast land between the desert and rainforest cohabitating a secret palace.

Where the cheetah must satisfy its hunger in order to survive defying all odds under moonlit nights.

God can even be found between predator and its prey.

My vision here is to complete this.

Whatever this is.

It is not fear,

Nor is it thought,

Nor is it thoughtless.

It is wandering,

Exploring,

Experiencing and understanding.

It is awareness of the distractions.

It is learning to understand instructions.

It is to act upon them.

It is to believe in them.

Sin can be guided by deception.

Similar to prey of a cheetah.

Blissfully believing that darkness is its cloak.

Misunderstanding tranquility.

That even among a little sparkle of stars exists a predator waiting for its unseen vision to finally come to fruition.

The night earth sky is dark until a full moon is visible.

Dividing light from the power source of all,

Our sun is now invisible.

400 times less than the capacity of daylight is all a cactus in the desert needs.

For if she feels the sun,

Her leaves will burn off.

And if you ask her of the sun,

She'll tell you of my moon.

I wonder if that's innocence or testimony of deception.

To compete against ignorant perception,

I must believe that God exists on an unknown plane and to some still unseen.

But in between the sparkle of stars and beyond the full moon,

Within the daylight and among its divisions of time,

May the heavens be my witness.

Is the moon familiar with me?
