Enjoy this recording of a river's natural flow, with the sound of wind and wildlife to transport you. Approximately 2 hours drive north of Nice, France, surrounded by medieval hilltop towns, the Esteron cuts a violent swath through a spectacular valley. After a 90 minute hike down into this valley, I crossed an absurdly beautiful bridge called the Pont de Cerise and ventured down to the water's edge. I had seen noone the whole journey. Someone had built a natural rock circle bath at the river's edge. Being August, it was so hot out, sitting in the freezing water was like heaven. I coated myself in natural mud and baked there for 2 hours. The walk back up and out was easy after such a blissful experience.
