Welcome to this daily present moment meditation.
My name is Peter Bell and this technique I will teach you I call the present hand.
It's a present.
The present moment has always been there and always been your gift.
These sessions will help you to realize that.
To help you uncover the wonder that is a clearer mind.
Senses that tingle with the possibilities of existence.
Take a gentle breath through your nose.
And just breathe yourself a little taller.
And relax then,
Just relax.
Take another few breaths and as you breathe in your chest and your upper back just rises just ever so slightly.
And relax,
Relax,
Relax.
Just give up any need,
Any need to be good at this,
Any need to achieve.
You're here to feel,
To see,
To sense what is.
Training you to use your senses as an interface between the present moment and your mind.
Not going to be lost in thoughts from the past or the future.
We're training to sense what is occurring now.
Your hand is there for you.
It's there as a reminder.
A reminder that you can become present when you need to.
And every day you can train,
If only for a few minutes.
Just gently look at your hand,
Move it with curiosity.
See how the light changes when you move your hand in different ways.
The hand is in front of you,
But it is also part of you.
It occupies a space in the senses in your mind.
And it occupies this 3D space around you.
Just very gently move that hand away from you,
Perhaps your palm is facing you.
Just with gentleness and curiosity move it away until you can find your outmost,
Most comfortable point.
Again,
With gentleness and curiosity,
Just look at your hand.
See how it occupies a space in consciousness.
A space in your surroundings.
Now gently move that back towards you.
That's it,
So gently.
Maybe you can study the back of your hand.
See any wrinkles,
Or hair,
Or veins.
Maybe there's the light shining on it in certain ways.
There it is,
Here,
In this room.
The present moment.
And in your own time I just want you to move your hand out and gently slowly back with curiosity.
Just do a few cycles in your own time now.
Open to what is.
Perhaps when moving your hand towards or away,
There is a point where it becomes slightly more in focus compared to the other points.
Find that spot.
Just with curiosity try and explore the different places.
Do you find something that just seems more real?
But tuning into the space around you and the object which is contained within that space,
Which is your hand.
And maybe at some point,
As you start to tune in visually,
You start to tune in your other senses.
Clarity gently dawns on you.
You feel the coolness or the expanse of the space around you.
You practice every day and perhaps share this gift with others.
You will be able to tune in to the present moment more and more and bask in the majesty of the now.
