Welcome,
Awake and Creative to week,
Where are we now,
32.
We've been looking through the lens of this one universal year in numerology on a week by week basis to rediscover,
Reinvent,
Reimagine the creative journey and the creative life in this spiraling 9 year cycle that numerology offers us to help us see and process and flow in the natural rhythm of life.
And here we are,
Week 32 if I've done the math right,
Ready to jump in.
I had a lovely experience the other day,
These are coming more frequently,
Or maybe it's just that I notice them more frequently because I've tuned into them,
Was listening to a podcast that was just meh,
Okay,
But I had a paintbrush in hand and my gloves on and I couldn't turn it off,
So I thought well,
I'll tolerate it,
So with earbuds in and canvas stretched across the driveway,
Yes,
The driveway,
I listened as I gessoed my canvas and spread color.
A lot of the interview responses were a bit cliche,
Almost too simple to be bothered repeating.
And yet,
As is often the case,
In the application to life,
To the story being told,
This person's cliches took on a little more depth.
The one I'm going to share with you here today,
Which is the mantra for the week,
Is one I would really love to see you pick up and try on,
Because I've done it myself.
I'll get to it in a moment,
But first,
I'm preempting.
We've all heard or been told to love our life.
Love is rather ambiguous to me,
So when it's applied in such an abstracted way,
I don't really land with it.
Conceptually,
Or intellectually,
I get it.
I can apply it to my life and get a good grade on the assignment.
But this interviewee gave it a little bit of a twist.
He said,
I trust my life.
Every day.
I trust my life.
That to me,
I could feel.
It resonated deeply.
What he meant by that,
Or my interpretation of what he was suggesting in it,
Is that how your life is unfolding,
Where your passions draw you,
And how your days unfold are meant to be.
This isn't preassigned.
Free will is huge.
You get to choose how a passion manifests into the world and into life,
But trusting that every step of the way,
As your morals and values are very grounded and solid,
Is going to keep you straight,
Is going to unfurl a beautiful life before you.
Now I'm speaking here from a studio,
An art studio,
And it helps me tremendously keep my focus on the present.
What is in front of me?
What do I hold in my hand?
And how can I trust this to unfurl into a beautiful life?
Try it on for yourself this week.
Ask yourself,
How can I trust my life?
And more fully,
Therefore,
Do what I'm here doing,
In faith,
And courage,
And strength,
And compassion.
Awake and Creative.
Today.
