Week 26 awake and creative.
Halfway.
Halfway.
Wow.
If you're here,
It's because you've traveled this first 26 weeks of 2026 along with me.
Thanks for coming.
Or perhaps you've just tripped upon us.
This once a week lesson for 52 weeks in this one numerological year.
Welcome to you as well.
Enjoy the ride.
And let's find out what this week 26 has for us.
Let's This is a will to go out,
To explore,
To understand and discern this world I'm living in.
It's far reaching,
Exploratory,
Not just in the sense of going out and having an adventure or vacation,
But seeking an understanding.
Now,
If you're familiar with astrology,
You know there's more to your chart than just your sun sign.
But all the same,
That's where I'm landing today.
In this idea of adventuring,
Of exploring,
And of knowing oneself.
Because to me,
That's the biggest adventure of this life.
The world itself is a universe in a universe made up of universes.
And each of us,
A replication of this.
That's enough to chew on and find wonder in for a lifetime.
So to know oneself in this intricate,
Intertwining world and universe is to know a lot and to know nothing.
The great mystery of being alive is always going to be just that.
The great mystery.
We're transient beings in our own lives.
That's not intended to be a disembodiment or something that shakes the ground you're standing on,
But a truth.
An understanding that might bring about appreciation,
Squell anxieties and doubts and ambiguities,
So that those challenges or ambiguities come opportunities.
Today's verse is a long one,
But it's meant to kind of ground us in this idea of transience through the lens of this grand world universe we live in.
We can't know it all,
But we humans have been given the gift of intellect to understand much.
Let's use it in the best way and be grateful that this exploration is an ongoing journey that never ends.
And welcome to Halfway.
This quote is from Maria Popova.
It's an introduction to a book she reviews called Practical Mysticism.
It is hard to know why we are here.
What we can make of the transience we can do nothing about.
How we can fill every borrowed atom of matter with meaning.
It is hard not to take for givens the answers handed down to us by our culture,
Our parents,
Our peers,
Our heroes.
There are those rare moments when something jolts you awake and you glimpse that meaning out of the corner of your eye.
You shudder with the thrill and terror of having touched the beating heart of reality,
Then fall back asleep into your daily life.
The great challenge,
The great triumph,
Is to keep awake the part of you that knows and has always known the truth about what it means to be alive.
This for me is something of an explanation for the wake-up call I feel like I am arriving at or carrying with into this year and throughout this year.
That sense of knowing.
I call myself an artist in the world.
It's a definition that can be recognized,
Seen by other people without furrowing a brow.
But in truth,
That title,
That nomiker is just a carrier to help with that understanding.
Because underneath it,
The tools I hold and the colors I use are vehicles.
They carry a message.
A soul message.
Something I meant to put into those paintings,
Right across those pages,
And bring to an eye,
Or many eyes,
A revelation,
A realization of a life that's deeper and wider and richer than what can be touched or seen or heard.
I've had those moments,
That great challenge,
The great triumph,
Where I've touched the beating heart and then fallen back asleep.
But progressively,
Those bits,
Those bobs of knowingness have been kept awake.
And I find myself here in this one year,
In this nine-year cycle,
With enough of those waking parts still beating in me to the degree that they can no longer be put to sleep.
What are you waking to?
Don't fall back asleep.
Live your daily life.
Hold your tools,
But recognize they're meant to be vehicles to carry a deeper message,
A deeper knowing,
A deeper presence into every bit of your life,
So that this world can recognize the same in themselves,
And that we all get to be on this grand adventure.
The great challenge,
The great triumph,
Is to keep awake the part of you that knows,
Has always known,
Truth about what it means to be alive.
That is your assignment.
Awaken creative today.
