Hi,
My name is Parth Sahani and welcome to my video mentoring session.
First of all,
Wishing all my Indian friends,
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi.
For the unversed,
Ganesh Chaturthi,
A major Hindu festival,
Celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha,
The elephant-headed deity known as the remover of obstacles,
The god of beginnings,
And the patron of arts and wisdom.
The central theme of the festival revolves around invoking Ganesha's blessings for prosperity,
Wisdom,
And the removal of life's hurdles.
It fosters a sense of community,
Gratitude,
And spiritual renewal.
The festival is rooted in the mythological story of Ganesha's creation.
According to Hindu tradition,
Ganesha was moulded by Goddess Parvati from sandalwood paste and brought to life to guard her while she bathed.
When Lord Shiva,
Parvati's husband,
Returned home,
Ganesha,
Unaware of Shiva's identity,
Refused him entry,
Which led to a fierce battle.
In a fit of rage,
Shiva beheaded Ganesha.
Grieved by the act,
Parvati insisted on her son's revival.
To pacify her,
Shiva replaced Ganesha's head with that of an elephant,
Symbolizing wisdom and strength,
Thus restoring him to life.
The festival,
Typically lasting 10 days,
Involves installing clay idols of Ganesha in homes and public spaces.
Devotees offer prayers,
Sweets and flowers to seek blessings for wisdom and prosperity.
On the final day,
The idols are immersed in water bodies,
Symbolizing Ganesha's return to Mount Kailash and the cycle of creation and dissolution.
Ganesh Chaturthi not only celebrates the birth of a beloved deity but also reinforces the values of wisdom,
Humility and the importance of overcoming challenges in life.
That's all for today and I'll talk to you soon.
Until next time,
Relax,
Stay calm and keep moving forward.
Bye.
