This short meditation will help you reconnect to the power of nature.
Begin to relax your body,
Settle in,
And become present in this time and space.
Close your eyes if you're comfortable doing that,
And take a few deep breaths.
Allow yourself to feel the weight of your body being supported by the earth beneath you.
Slowly notice each inhale and exhale.
Thank the trees and plants,
All the living green things of this earth,
For providing the oxygen you need to breathe in,
And for taking the carbon you exhale to build their own beautiful bodies.
Feel yourself as a connector between the air above you and the earth beneath you.
Recognize that our allies the trees make this connection between the worlds of sky and soil even more strongly.
And thank the trees for showing us how to link heaven and earth together.
Think about a few other beings you are familiar with in your bio-region.
Your plants,
People,
Or other animals.
As you bring each one to mind,
Thank them for the ways they enrich your life.
Allow your heart and mind to open to the wonder of this amazing planet we live on,
And connect with your gratitude for being alive on earth.
Take another deep breath,
And gently open your eyes and come back to the here and now.
Thank you for becoming more present and reconnected to the living world all around you.
