This is your breather in the Christmas chaos.
Over the next few minutes,
You're going to give yourself a much-needed break.
Set aside all thoughts of ordering a turkey,
Wrapping presents and inviting the neighbours over for mince pies.
This is your time for you and your vision of your ideal Christmas.
Take a moment to get comfortable,
Either lying down or sitting up.
Gently close your eyes and take a couple of deep,
Soothing breaths.
With each breath,
On the exhale,
Try to release a little tension from your body wherever you might be feeling it.
Feel where your body connects to the chair or if you're lying down,
Where your body connects to the bed or the ground.
Shift your attention to that feeling of connection and again,
Allow yourself to take a few deep breaths and release any tension that you're still holding in your body.
Take a moment to focus your attention on what really matters for you this Christmas.
It could be spending time with family,
Visiting a place that holds special memories.
It could be supporting a good cause that's close to your heart.
Get really clear on what your ideal Christmas looks like for you.
Imagine that you're in that place.
What sensations will you experience in your body?
What thoughts will enter your head?
What can you smell,
See,
Taste,
Touch?
Get super clear on that vision of your ideal Christmas experience and commit to making that your top priority.
Nothing else matters.
Everything else is just the stuff of life.
The shopping,
The wrapping,
The cooking,
They're all things that you can choose to do or not to do.
It's entirely your decision.
You are in control.
You get to make your vision of your ideal Christmas a reality.
And you're also allowed to let go of all the things that don't serve you.
The things that you're doing because you feel that you should.
Not because you want to or because they are taking you closer to your vision of your ideal Christmas.
If letting go of these things does not feel comfortable to you,
Then consider this your permission slip to release and let go.
Keeping that vision of your ideal Christmas in your head,
Take a few deep,
Nourishing breaths as you deepen your commitment to focusing on what is important to you and make the brave decision to let go of anything that does not serve you.
And then when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Return your attention to the room and commit to bringing your vision to life and creating a Christmas experience that is right just for you as you are in this moment.
