Namaste,
Divine Beings.
I have just done a 27-hour trip starting by flight from Los Angeles to Doha and Doha to Chennai and then another flight from Chennai to Madurai and then by car to my hometown and after the 27 hours of travelling I felt as though I had not experienced time at all.
This inspires me to share with you the 10 yogic wisdom of travel.
Traveling is sometimes out of necessity or simply pleasure.
To make travel joyful,
Memorable and inspiring is an art most frequent travellers learn.
These 10 travel wisdom helps in transforming a travel experience from boring to exciting.
The first,
Prepare before the trip all the activities we might want to do like reading material,
Game,
Movies etc.
Include especially a notepad or a diary,
Book or electronic to write.
The second,
Knowing we are to travel embrace timelessness.
Try not to look at the clock while we are on travel and do not get entrapped in time unless inspired and wanting to plan more with time on hand.
When we seldom look at time,
Time slips fast as we are in timelessness.
When we keep looking at time,
We could be subdued by impatience and boredom.
Third,
While planning for food that is healthy and medicinal,
Keep our mind open to the new local food as indulging in the culture as an adventure.
To a yogi,
The next meal is the best meal yet.
When we are inspired to an adventure with different cultural food or the food we have planned for ourselves and when we are flexible with food,
Eating becomes less stressful and more inspiring.
The fourth,
Traveling to new places stimulates our thinking afresh and actually evolves us.
Masters prescribe travel to develop our innate genius.
Travel can help us let go of beliefs,
Habits and nature that no longer serves us and we end up recreating ourselves with new intent,
Practices and disciplines.
The fifth,
Embrace time as self-care to cocoon ourselves.
Meditating during this time is impactful as we are not worried about a lack of time.
Time holds the space of timelessness that aligns meditation,
Contemplation,
Dreaming and planning.
The sixth,
Be in the mindfulness of the flow while traveling by entwining the magic of unraveling the new as experiences while of being in the now simultaneously.
When in the flow of allowing the dynamic changes while joyful of the moment we are in,
Time flies.
Seven,
Traveling time holds the potential of greater thoughts,
Strategy and decision making.
With the availability of ourselves to ourselves as in going within,
Travel gives us time to think,
Ponder and plan.
This would be the time we could set ourselves to writing,
To working inside out.
Eight,
Embrace the reality that there will be plenty of time before us to sleep and rest.
It is sometimes okay to do nothing.
Allow us,
Allow ourselves this space of relaxation as privilege so we are not bored with having time on hand.
Nine,
For some of us who enjoy companionship,
Will Rogers quote,
I never met a man I did not like stands as a valued travel wisdom.
It's inspiring and time absorbing to have interesting conversations and make new friends while traveling.
Ten,
Let a heart sing with mantra chants.
Be in the mantra of fire that resolves anxieties and stress while expanding consciousness.
By chanting the mantra within,
Our subconscious mind is kept occupied with each moment serving as prayers and we are in source connectivity.
When our heart sings,
We are in a meditative mode of timelessness that condenses time.
In chanting the mantra,
We are activating our super mind states the sages called Turiya,
The sleepless sleep that is intensely restful,
Mindful and rejuvenated.
Travel is blessings of being blessed when we are utilizing these moments to expand consciousness,
To renew ourselves,
To rejuvenate the greater,
Vaster,
Immense being that we are in oneness grace.
Om Namah Shivaya.
