Welcome.
If you've found your way here today,
Chances are your mind has been working very hard.
Maybe it keeps replaying conversations,
Planning for every possible outcome,
Trying to solve problems before they happen,
Wondering if you missed something important.
If that's true,
I don't want to ask your mind to stop.
Instead,
I'd like to invite you to become curious about the part of you that's working so hard.
Find a comfortable position.
Allow your body to settle in whatever way feels natural.
There's nowhere to get to.
Nothing to figure out.
Nothing to solve.
Just this moment.
Take a slow breath in.
And let it gently fall away.
Again.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Without trying to change your thoughts.
Simply notice them.
Notice how quickly your mind moves.
How one thought leads to another.
And another.
Almost as if someone inside of you is searching.
Scanning.
Looking for the next thing that needs attention.
You don't have to stop this.
Just notice it.
Now,
Gently ask yourself,
What is this part trying so hard to do for me?
Not how do I get rid of it.
Not,
Why can't I stop thinking?
But what is it hoping will happen if it keeps working?
Allow whatever comes.
Maybe words.
Maybe images.
Maybe nothing at all.
There is no right answer.
As you continue breathing,
See if you can imagine this overthinking as someone.
Not because it literally is.
But because sometimes it's easier to understand something when we give it a little shape.
Perhaps you notice someone sitting nearby.
Maybe they're carrying notebooks.
Maps.
Lists.
Calendars.
Maybe they're constantly looking over the horizon.
Maybe they seem exhausted.
Or determined.
Or frightened.
Simply notice.
As you look at this hard-working part.
See if you can appreciate something about it.
Not because you enjoy overthinking.
But because this part has probably spent a very long time believing that thinking is how it protects you.
Perhaps it believes.
If I think enough,
Nothing bad will happen.
If I prepare for everything,
You'll be okay.
If I never stop,
I'll keep you safe.
Notice how much responsibility it may have been carrying.
If it feels right.
You might quietly say to this part,
I see how hard you've been working.
Thank you for trying to protect me.
You don't have to convince me that your work matters.
Pause.
See what happens inside.
Maybe nothing changes.
That's okay.
Maybe this part softens just a little.
That's okay,
Too.
Now notice something else.
You are able to observe this part.
Which means you are more than the thinking.
More than the planning.
More than the worrying.
There is a quiet awareness inside of you.
Watching all of this unfold.
This awareness doesn't need to solve anything right now.
It doesn't rush.
It doesn't panic.
It simply notices.
Rest there for a moment.
As we come toward the end of our time together,
You don't need to promise this part that you'll never think again.
You don't need to tell it to disappear.
Instead.
Perhaps you simply let it know.
You don't have to carry this alone anymore.
I'm here with you.
We'll figure things out together.
Take one more slow breath.
Feeling the support beneath you.
The air moving gently in and out.
When you're ready.
Begin to notice the room around you.
The sounds nearby.
The weight of your body.
And slowly.
Gently.
Open your eyes.
Thank you for spending this time with me today.
And if this way of meeting yourself with curiosity and compassion resonated with you,
I'd love to invite you to continue exploring.
This meditation is just one doorway into a deeper way of relating to your inner world.
The Inner Home Journey expands on these ideas through a series of guided meditations designed to help you get to know the different places and parts of yourself with warmth,
Clarity,
And compassion.
I hope you'll join me there.
