The New Beginning - A Journey Through Transitions

With Zuzana Robertson, Psychologist

Every new beginning starts with an ending you didn’t choose, or one you did but still weren’t ready for. The career that defined you. The relationship that shaped you. The version of yourself you’ve outgrown. The life you carefully built that no longer fits. Transitions are among the most psychologically complex experiences a human being moves through - not because they are unusual, but because the self is genuinely reorganising. Who you were is ending. Who you are becoming hasn’t arrived yet. And the space in between - the void, the uncertainty, the fear is where most people get stuck. This course was designed by a psychologist with seventeen years of experience and a specialist understanding of identity, change, and the nervous system’s response to loss. Across six modules, you will move through the complete arc of transition — from the courage of release, through the discomfort of the in-between, through the shadow of fear and the forge of identity, to the threshold of new ground and the embodiment of arrival. Each module combines a psychological teaching drawn from evidence-based frameworks - including Bridges’ Transition Model, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, polyvagal theory, and somatic psychology with a music track composed specifically for that stage of the journey. This is not a course about positive thinking. It is a course about the real, difficult, ultimately transformative work of becoming someone new. You are already in transition. This course simply walks alongside you. By the end of this course you will have a clear psychological understanding of why transition feels the way it does, evidence-based tools for every stage of the journey, and a values-based sense of identity that no circumstance can take away. You will move through endings with greater ease, sit with uncertainty without being overwhelmed, and arrive at new ground feeling genuinely different from the person who began.

Meet your Teacher

Zuzana Robertson is an occupational psychologist and certified hypnotherapist with seventeen years of experience working with people and organisations through change. She holds a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy and is also a meditation teacher. Transition - in all its forms is among her specialist areas. She brings together an evidence-based understanding of how people move through change with a deep knowledge of the nervous system’s response to uncertainty, loss, and the reorganisation of identity. The New Beginning draws on frameworks from occupational and career psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, somatic psychology, and polyvagal theory - delivered not as a clinical programme but as a guided journey for anyone standing at the edge of something ending and something not yet begun. Music, composed specifically for each stage of the transition arc, brings a second layer of support that speaks directly to the body rather than the mind - meeting the listener where words alone cannot reach.

Letting Go

English

Lesson 1

The Great Release - Leaving Something Behind

Every transition begins here - with the courage to acknowledge that something is ending. Not to rush past it. Not to reframe it into something positive before it has been fully felt. Simply to stand at the edge of what was and give it the acknowledgement it deserves before letting it go. This module uses somatic awareness and cognitive reframing techniques from transition psychology to support the nervous system through the specific stress of endings.

Lesson 2

The Void - The In-Between

The void is the most uncomfortable and the most creative stage of any transition. The old is gone. The new has not arrived. The temptation is to rush - to fill the space with decisions, plans, distractions. This module teaches the psychology of liminality and uses sound to create a relationship with uncertainty that is curious rather than terrified.

Lesson 3

The Shadow - Fear Of The Unknown

Fear arrives in every transition. Not as a sign that something is wrong, but as the nervous system’s honest response to genuine uncertainty. This module uses somatic psychology and nervous system regulation techniques to meet fear directly - not to eliminate it, but to move through it rather than around it.

Lesson 4

The Forge - Identity In Flux

When a significant role ends, the self must reorganise. This is one of the most disorienting and ultimately most liberating aspects of transition - the discovery that you are more than what you were doing. This module uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles and values-based identity work to build a self that is resilient, multi-dimensional, and not dependent on any single role or circumstance for its stability.

Lesson 5

The Threshold - Standing On New Ground

The threshold is the moment of crossing - from the old world to the new. Not yet arrived, but no longer in the void. Standing at the edge of what is genuinely possible. This module uses evidence-based visualisation and nervous system activation techniques to support the movement from passive endurance of transition to active, embodied engagement with what comes next.

Lesson 6

Arrival - Integration & Embodiment

Arrival is not a destination. It is a quality of presence - the embodied experience of having moved through something significant and emerged as someone who has genuinely changed. This final module uses integration psychology and somatic consolidation techniques to anchor the journey and invite the listener into a relationship with their new self that is grounded, compassionate, and permanent.
