Finding Your Center In A Topsy Turvy World

With Shauna Laubman | The Pause Studio

The world feels loud, fractured, and overwhelming right now—and if you’re a sensitive, caring person, you may be feeling it deeply. The constant stream of troubling news, collective grief, and personal stress can leave you feeling off balance, exhausted, or unsure how to stay open-hearted without burning out. This course is a gentle invitation to pause. Finding Your Center in a Topsy-Turvy World offers grounding meditations and thoughtful reflections to help you stay steady in uncertain times—not by ignoring what’s happening around you, but by learning how to meet it with presence, compassion, and resilience. This course is not about fixing the world or forcing positivity. It’s about returning to yourself—again and again—so you can live, care, and respond from a place of grounded clarity. Come as you are. Nothing to achieve. Just a steady place to land when everything feels upside down.

Lesson 2

Finding Your Center In The Pause

There is a space within you that the world cannot shake. Using Victor Frankl's quote, "Between Stimulus and Response There is a Space", we look at the pause as a powerful tool. In this lesson, you are invited to slow down and reconnect with that inner steadiness—the place where clarity replaces urgency, and response replaces reaction. Through gentle awareness and meditation, you’ll learn how to stay grounded in the midst of noise, and how to meet the world without losing yourself in it.

Lesson 3

Softening Into the Body — Remembering Your Center

In this gentle and deeply nourishing lesson, we move out of the busy mind and into the quiet intelligence of the body. You’ll be guided to soften the protective layers that hold tension and begin to feel what centeredness actually is—not as an idea, but as a lived experience. Through awareness, breath, and subtle shifts in attention, you’ll reconnect with the part of you that knows how to settle, trust, and simply be. This is where your center begins to feel real… steady… and accessible.

Lesson 4

Living From Awareness — Bringing Your Center Into Daily Life

Now that you’ve begun to feel your center, this lesson gently invites you to carry it into your everyday life. Into movement. Into thought. Into the moments that usually pull you away. You’ll explore how awareness can move with you—helping you respond instead of react, soften instead of brace, and stay connected to yourself even in a noisy, unpredictable world. This is the bridge between practice and life… where your center becomes something you live from, not just return to.

Lesson 5

Seeing Clearly — Living From Your Heart-Centered Self

In this final lesson, everything begins to come together. You’ll be guided into a deeper state of awareness inspired by the practice of observing without judgment—learning to see clearly what is happening within you, without needing to fix or change it. This is where true freedom begins. From this place of calm observation and heart-centered awareness, you’ll discover a quiet strength, a steady clarity, and a deep trust in yourself. This is not an ending… but a beginning. A way of moving through the world with more presence, more openness, and more ease—no matter what life brings.
