Meet your Teacher

Emily is a certified meditation teacher, yoga teacher, Reiki Master, shamanic practitioner, as well as an end-of-life doula. Lifelong student of these practices as well as astrology, Earth medicine, and spiritual / mind-body-spirit connections. Believes that we evolve over time with our relationships, including our relationships with ourselves. We are transformational beings. And, as such, are on journeys of self-discovery and growth. You already have all the tools and knowledge. Her passion is nurturing your well-being, which in turn serves the community.

An accessible introduction to awareness, attention, and coming home to the present moment. Mindfulness is present moment awareness. And, we'll explore how are we in the present moment as well as what is mindfulness meditation.

Mindfulness Of The Body

Learning to inhabit the body with curiosity and care through breath, sensation, and movement. We'll explore how mindfulness of the body supports our practice, what it reveals about change, how it deepens our compassion and wisdom, and that we have a choice of what we pay attention to and for how long.

Lesson 3

The Wise Heart

Cultivating warmth, compassion, and goodwill for yourself and others. We'll explore heart qualities including lovingkindness, compassion (when lovingkindness encounters suffering), joy (manifestation of lovingkindness when wellbeing is encountered), and equanimity (balancing the heart qualities by bringing impartiality to the foreground, mixed with wisdom).

Lesson 4

Bringing Your Practice Into The World

Practical ways to carry mindfulness off the cushion and into work, relationships, and daily life. Remembering how we awaken mindfulness and compassion and bring all our resources to what's here. We will also practice a strategy for mindfulness that involves recognizing, allowing, investigating, and nurturing what is presenting.
