Welcome to this month's practice on somatic self-worth.
This is such a beautiful topic and I'm so excited to guide you through this amazing practice.
As always,
Remember that your body is your smartest friend and guide and tool.
You know much better than me.
So if something I guide you through or suggest doesn't feel good,
Please listen to your body.
It knows so much better than me.
So let's begin by just finding a supported,
Comfortable position.
This might be seated,
This might be laying down,
Whatever feels really good and nourishing in your body right now.
And begin to just settle in.
And as you do so,
Just noticing what part of your body do you feel like you fully occupy,
Like you fully are there,
You fully fill that space in your body.
And it can be an entire leg or a foot or a toe or a fingernail.
The size really doesn't matter here.
What matters is that you really feel yourself fully taking up space.
And if you want to have your eyes closed,
That might help to really feel that to feel the fullness of you taking up space.
And as you are feeling this,
I want you to say with me,
I am here.
I am here.
I am here.
Just notice how this feels in your throat,
Your chest,
Your belly as you say those beautiful words.
I am here.
I am fully here in my body.
Just feel this inside.
And take a moment now and remember a time.
When you did something difficult,
Maybe something that you felt like,
I don't know if I can do this.
This is really hard.
I don't know if I can figure it out.
I don't know if I can move through this.
And you did it and you felt capable.
You felt like you could.
Something shifted inside of you in your nervous system and there became a new edge where now you knew that you could.
Take a moment to remember something like this,
An example like this.
And just notice in your body.
Where do you feel a sense of being capable?
Perhaps there is a feeling of spaciousness,
Of a sunshine radiating from your body out,
Of energy moving,
Of strength.
Maybe you feel a bit heavier in your seat.
Just notice.
And connect with that sensation really deeply,
Just feeling it.
And for the last part of this practice,
I want you to connect to a desire that you have in your life.
It could be a desire in a particular relationship,
A specific desire with a partner,
A friend,
A boss,
A colleague.
Or it could be a general desire,
Like you really want to buy a house,
You want to make more money.
Whatever it might be,
Just one.
Pick one.
Pick one desire.
And I want you to notice in your body.
Area I can it can be really small or bigger.
It really doesn't matter but one area in your body that feels I Deserve to have this in your shoulders,
Perhaps your back.
Throat,
Chest.
Belly,
Pelvis.
Your hands or your feet.
Anywhere in your body that feels,
I deserve to have this.
And if it feels right,
You can say this out loud,
I deserve to have this.
I deserve to have this.
Now notice in your body where there might be a feeling.
Of not deserving it.
Maybe it's fear.
Constriction or tension or heaviness,
Just notice where that lives in your body.
No judgment,
No fixing,
Just simply noticing.
And see if this part of you that feels I don't deserve this can sense that there is also a part of you that feels that you deserve this.
Can this part notice that and take it in?
And just see what happens in your body.
What I sense is.
.
.
There was a lot of fear and now the fear gets smaller or there's almost like a burden that this fear is carrying and the burden is gone and the fear can really see there is another part that feels a sense of deserving.
And coming back now to the place in your body that feels,
I deserve to have this.
Maybe it's a couple of places.
Again,
If it feels supportive,
You can say,
I deserve to have this.
And just feel your body and the room where you're in,
Very gently starting to open your eyes,
Looking around the space.
Noticing anything that feels soothing to you.
I'm looking at this beautiful card deck of nature meditations that my best friend gave me and just feeling my best friend in my heart as it expands and I feel so happy thinking of her.
How seen I feel by her.
Hmm,
I hope you've enjoyed this practice and I encourage you to come back to it multiple times.
It's a really beautiful way to work on our deserving patterns,
Our belief in our own being capable to do things and be in this world.
Thank you so much for practicing with me.
I love you and I'll be with you very soon again.
