How To Prevent Fear From Blocking Your Wishes Part 1
by Maporoco
Fear is a natural response designed to keep us safe, but we have become accustomed to experiencing it on a regular basis, I want to help you overcome it so you can pursue your dreams. The second part of this recording features a meditation to help you put fear in its place.

So,
Like I was saying,
We're going to talk about how to avoid your fears to,
Let's say,
Take over your dreams,
Right?
And the first thing I need to say is that fear in regards to attaining your wishes is a reaction to something that does not exist.
And when I think about it in that way,
I feel kind of silly,
And I'm only speaking for myself.
I'm not judging anyone because,
To be honest,
We were designed to use fear as a protective mechanism to preserve our lives.
So fear in the right circumstance is good,
Okay?
If you are jaywalking because maybe you're watching your phone,
And then you turn your gaze and find out that a car is about to hit you,
Well,
I'm sure you will experience fear,
And hopefully you will escape the situation.
And that brings me back to 1991.
I was going to a city in Mexico which is called Guadalajara,
Or if I say it in English,
Guadalajara.
And a friend of mine was driving,
And it was a very narrow road.
Let's say road,
All right?
Highway,
That's the word I was looking for.
And it was a two-way highway,
And only one lane per direction.
So my friend wanted to get early and to pass as many cars as he could,
But unfortunately,
He was too greedy,
And we ended up crashing in front of a truck,
Which was coming the opposite way.
Now,
It was so fast that,
I don't know,
I did not see my previous memories passing through me or whatever people say when they are about to die.
By the way,
I was not about to die,
Thank God.
But I was able to experience intense fear,
And it was so intense that after the crash,
I was able to pull my hair out by chunks because of the impression,
The strong emotion that I experienced.
So yeah,
Fear is definitely something that we're going to experience.
But in this context,
And talking about pursuing our dreams,
It could be a factor,
Don't get me wrong.
But in most cases,
That fear is just ourselves looking into the future and thinking things we don't want to happen.
And in doing so,
We're sabotaging ourselves.
And it has a double negative effect because we may,
In fact,
Screw up what we want to have,
But also we are making ourselves feel bad.
So there's a double reason why to take a choice that you will not be stopped by fear,
Okay?
Now,
The first thing,
Well,
This is actually the second anecdote,
The one of the car crash I remembered just now and shared it.
But some of you know that I quit my job a few years ago.
And believe me,
That was a very difficult decision to make,
Mainly because,
Well,
I'm in my 40s,
Just deciding to no longer receive a steady income when I was not precisely receiving money from another source,
It was really frightening.
But I had to make the choice because I reached a point in which I could no longer serve two masters.
What do I mean by that?
Well,
One master was my employer,
But the other one was my dreams.
And the thing is that I started pursuing different outlets for my creativity.
One of them was starting to write a book,
And then I started uploading content about what I do on the Internet.
And at some point I was so happy doing the things I really wanted to do that that made me feel so much more worse about having a normal job.
And after a couple of months,
I said I cannot take this anymore,
So I quit.
And a month afterwards,
On the 30th of January 2019,
Well,
That was my last day as a normal worker,
And I started living off of my savings.
So trust me,
The fear was there,
The fear to not being able to be independent,
And the need to go back with my tail between my legs like a scared dog,
Asking for employment,
Right,
Which thank God I have not been forced to do.
I'm still independent.
It was a really difficult decision to make.
And what did I do?
Not necessarily to have the courage,
Although I guess some of that was involved,
But what helped me to make up my mind was to remember that in previous occasions,
When I needed a job,
I was able to manifest a job with the help of the law of attraction.
So worst case scenario,
If this didn't go well,
Well,
I could always ask for someone to give me a job,
Right?
Sounds easy.
I know it isn't.
But in my case,
It has been because I have manifested several jobs.
The first thing I want to conclude about not letting your fears get in the way of your dreams is that the future is not real.
It's just a product of your imagination.
And of course,
It could become a reality.
But if you think about it,
Nothing is written in stone.
And if there's something that you really want and thinking about the obstacles or the unlikeliness of it is tearing you apart,
There will come a time when you need to make a choice.
And most of the times we choose what we really want to live.
Most of the time we choose to follow our dreams.
So of course,
I'm not telling anyone to be irresponsible and to quit your job,
Especially if you have mouths to feed.
No.
And that was an advantage that I had and still have.
I don't have kids or a spouse that I need to sustain.
That made things easier.
But anyways,
Take control of yourself,
Take a hold of yourself.
Ground yourself in the present moment.
You don't need to make changes of 180 degrees in your life in this very moment.
You have time to think about it.
And there's something that my grandfather taught me a few decades ago.
He said,
Whenever you're facing a tough decision or something that you really cannot make your mind about,
Just take a piece of paper,
Because at that time we did not have cell phones.
It was just paper.
So take a piece of paper and draw a letter T.
On one side,
Write down the pros and on the other side the cons.
And after you have been able to objectively describe both sides,
Then make your choice.
And that will be a more objective and less emotional decision.
Okay?
Now,
Speaking about other anecdotes that I want to share with you,
I remember when I was,
Well,
Way younger,
That we went to a beach in Mexico which is called Acapulco.
Some of you may have heard of it.
And I was a kid,
Maybe 10 years old,
And we were at the pool and there was this platform,
I would say maybe three meters high,
Which is 10 feet.
So we went up and we looked from that platform to the pool.
And it looked really intimidating.
And one of my friends pushed me.
But I was so scared that I grabbed onto one of the,
Well,
To the ledge.
There were some bars there,
I believe.
But I was not strong enough to pull myself up,
So I had to let go and fall.
That was not pleasant.
Now,
Fast forward a few years in the future at the amusement park with some of my friends,
And they decided to get on a ride.
And this ride went in circles and also up and down.
And I was screaming like a little boy.
And I don't say a little girl because there's nothing wrong with girls.
Right?
And I felt so ashamed.
They were having the time of their lives,
But I felt horrible.
And I also remember that,
Well,
One of my ex-girlfriends was very into those things.
And we went to another amusement park at some point,
And she just got on all the rides.
And I was just down there staring.
So one day I said,
Okay,
Let's see what's going on with me.
So I went to a pool,
And I climbed to the 10 feet or 3 meter trampoline,
And I jumped once.
It felt horrible.
My stomach felt,
I don't know,
I cannot describe the feeling,
Really,
Really bad.
But I said,
I'm going to try it again.
Maybe if I keep trying it,
I'm going to lose that awful feeling,
And I will conquer my fear.
Right?
So I did.
And every time I did,
It felt equally horrible.
So my conclusion was,
Okay,
So I'm not a coward,
But this stuff is not for me.
So I'm going to stop pretending that I can just tackle this,
And I will just avoid it for the rest of my life because I was not built for this.
I am not an adrenaline junkie.
I will never do extreme sports.
That is not in my nature,
And I need to accept who I am.
So although that was not a dream of mine,
If you decide to pursue one of your dreams,
And for some reason you are not able to get it,
Don't beat yourselves up because you tried.
But there's,
I would say,
Something more positive that I can say about that.
If you think about your dreams,
Well,
You can categorize them in love,
Health,
And prosperity.
I mean,
Other than those categories,
I really cannot think about another one,
Really.
So let's say that you like someone,
And I mean,
At least where I was raised,
It is customary for men to approach women and invite them to whatever.
I don't know,
Go out or,
You know,
At least when I was younger,
Women were not doing that,
Right?
And I'm completely okay with women taking the initiative.
I actually think it's really cool.
But my point is that as a man,
As a younger version of myself,
Sometimes I was terrified to approach a woman that I liked because I was afraid of what?
Rejection.
But what happens if the girl that you like says no?
Well,
There are millions of other women in my case that I could ask out.
My point is that you should not settle.
Just because you have sheer numbers of people available,
That doesn't mean that you're just going to be asking every single person that passes through you,
Or next to you,
Sorry,
If they want to go out with you.
You should never compromise what you want.
You should always go for those dreams that really,
Really make you feel excited about.
But the point is,
Okay,
So person X said no.
Okay,
That's fine.
There are so many more.
All right,
You did not get that job at that specific company.
That doesn't mean that you cannot do the same activity somewhere else.
And maybe that somewhere else is even better,
Has better benefits for you as a worker.
Let's say that you have a health condition.
Your body is designed to heal,
And the fact that you haven't healed yet,
Doesn't mean that you will not be able to do so,
Right?
And the more you put your attention to your condition and feel bad about it,
The more stress you're going to gather and accumulate in your body,
Which is completely counterproductive to healing.
And we have advanced so much in medicine that,
Of course,
There are some things that you cannot cure yet.
But if you go back to maybe 100 years earlier,
How many diseases we have been able to overcome.
If there is this dream that you failed at,
Don't beat yourself up.
And just consider that the essence of your dream is not only in that specific job or person or city or whatever there is.
You can still manifest your wish.
And the less fear you have,
The better.
So there's another anecdote of mine.
When I was renting an apartment 20 years ago,
And I had no job,
I was about to being kicked out because I could not pay the rent.
And eventually I was able.
But the point of this story is that one thing that allowed me to feel better,
Although I was going through a,
I'm not sure how deep or profound,
But I was going through a depression and just thinking about the fact that I could go to my grandmother's house to live there or go back to Mexico to live with my father.
So those were options.
I was not in a situation where I could be sleeping on the streets.
So it was not that bad.
Although those were not options that I would really wanted to take,
At least they were present.
So they allowed me to relax a little bit.
And I manifested a loan,
Which I used to pay the rent and settle my affairs.
And eventually I paid the loan.
So honestly,
Friends,
Fear in the context of your dreams is not an ally.
I guess the most powerful tool that I have used to feel good and to manifest miracles has been just to talk to God,
The universe,
Or energy,
However you call this beautiful energy,
And put myself in those loving hands and say,
I know that you will never forsaken me because you have shown me countless times that I'm never alone.
And you know what I want.
And I know that you have the power to change my life in a matter of seconds.
And if you're not doing that right now,
There must be a good reason.
Maybe I need to learn something.
Maybe you want me to change the way I think and stop feeling like a victim and be proactive and feel my own power to overcome this obstacle,
This situation.
I don't know what it is,
But what I do know,
You will never leave me alone.
You will always give me options.
And I put myself in your arms so you can lift me if I'm falling down.
Well,
Of course,
I don't say that whole phrase,
That whole spiel,
But that's the idea.
We are never alone.
And I understand that people can challenge me and say,
I don't believe you because I have lived countless things that I don't want even to talk about.
Well,
All I can do,
Friends,
Is to talk about my experience.
And I know that I don't have anything that makes me more important than anyone on this planet.
I mean,
Maybe to my mom.
But when it comes to dignity,
To worthiness,
No,
Nothing.
So if I'm able to receive the assistance,
The help and the love of God through God's hands or through other people's hands,
Which by the way,
We are all extensions of God,
Then everyone can get the same thing.
And maybe,
Just maybe,
The only thing that has made me more keen to manifest in a lot of things is that I have spent a lot of my life just with myself,
Like a hermit.
I do have friends.
I do go out.
But most of the time I'm alone with my own thoughts.
And those thoughts at some point were very negative.
And once you are tired of all that negativity,
You will be motivated to make some changes.
And when you change yourself,
Then the world around you will change.
