So,

Today we're going to talk about affirmations.

That's the actual term.

It's different from affirmations,

But I'm going to explain the difference.

First of all,

What are affirmations?

The actual word that does exist.

Well,

An affirmation is just a positive statement,

And in the context of energy work,

I usually talk about the law of attraction,

And this means that it's a technique to get in the same frequency as your desires.

In other words,

It's something that you can leverage to attract what you want to have in your life.

So,

For example,

If you want to manifest a great job,

You could use an affirmation like,

I have the most amazing job in the world.

Something like that.

Now,

Some people will tell you that you need to affirm in present tense,

And I respectfully disagree.

Let me tell you why.

I mean,

It works,

Don't get me wrong.

But what happens when you say something that you know is not true?

You're going to have a response from your brain,

From your thoughts,

That is not going to be in alignment with that statement.

So,

If I were to say I'm a millionaire because I want to manifest a lot of money,

Then my brain is going to be like,

Really?

You're a millionaire?

Wow.

So,

Where's the Bentley?

Where's the Ferrari?

Why are you still paying mortgage?

So,

If you're a millionaire,

Why are you still working for that company or doing that job that you don't like?

If you're a millionaire,

How come you are not buying everything that you want?

And that's a type of,

In a way,

Resistance,

Rejection that you're going to have from your brain.

Now,

When I say your brain,

I am not trying to say that your brain is an independent being,

That it's like a parasite living in your body.

No.

So,

What I mean by your brain is the amount of beliefs that you have towards anything.

So,

That's what I mean.

If you want to have a lot of money or if you want to find love,

But you don't believe it's easy or it's something that you can achieve,

That's what I mean with your brain.

Okay?

Well,

I have been using the law of attraction for 20 plus years,

And my favorite technique is affirmations,

But I never use them in present tense because of what I just told you.

There is a disconnect between my beliefs and what I want to achieve.

And I was kind of shocked when I learned that Abraham Hicks also says the same thing.

They don't recommend you to use affirmations in present tense.

Now,

Like I said,

It's not that they don't work,

But energy work is about feeling good.

And if every time you use an affirmation in present tense,

You are fighting yourself,

You're struggling to try to impose a new criteria.

Well,

You can get results in that way,

But it's a hard way to go about it.

So,

What I do is I just affirm in future tense,

Which some people think it doesn't work because you are constantly looking at your wish in the future.

And as you know,

The future never comes because we're always living in the present moment.

But I can happily tell you that that's not true.

I have been able to manifest many things using affirmations in future tense.

In fact,

I have been able to manifest using the word no,

Which is no longer an affirmation because it's not a positive statement.

But I have said,

I can't remember how many times I had a meeting,

Let's say tomorrow or on Friday,

And I said,

I really don't want to have this meeting,

Or I really don't want to see this person or whatever.

And all of a sudden,

Somebody tells me,

You know what,

We're going to reschedule,

Or I just can't make it.

So,

There you go.

It works.

Remember,

Energy work has to do with feeling good.

So,

With that said,

If you are still trying to use affirmations in present tense,

I have an alternative for you that can help you to reduce that resistance,

That fight with your brain.

And those will be affirmations,

The topic of today's teaching.

Now,

Before I forget,

I want to ask you to grab a pencil,

A pen,

Or something like that,

Because we're going to have an exercise.

We're going to use affirmations.

And it's very important that you can record the outcome of this exercise,

Because you can work with this to help you to change your beliefs.

Okay,

So what's the deal with affirmations?

Well,

First of all,

Credit where credit is due.

This term was coined by Noah St.

John.

He was very smart into making us aware of this hack that is going to make your brain be on your side,

To root for you,

To help you to get what you want.

So,

How is it done?

Well,

You have an affirmation,

But you're going to change your affirmation into a question.

For example,

If you want to have friends,

If you want to have people to hang out with,

Instead of saying,

I have a lot of friends,

You can say something like,

Why do I always have people to hang out with?

Or why so many people look for me?

Why so many people want to meet me?

Why so many people invite me over to hang out or to dine or travel?

Whatever you want to use.

And since you're not saying,

I have a lot of friends,

Or I'm very popular,

Or what have you,

And you are asking a question,

You are putting your brain in answering mode.

You are limiting the options of your brain to contradict your statement.

Instead,

You're making it find answers.

And those answers are gold nuggets that you can use to change those limiting beliefs.

Because,

To be honest,

If there is a wish that you believe with 100% of your being that it's for you,

And you have zero doubts,

Then it will already be part of your experience.

It will no longer be a wish.

So that means that you still are not completely aligned with your wish.

Therefore,

Using this technique,

You can help yourself to change those beliefs,

To reduce or limit the strength of those obstacles,

Those walls that you have built,

With or without your knowledge.

All right?

One thing that I forgot to mention earlier is that,

Yes,

Your brain is going to try to give you answers,

Regardless of the fact that it's not real yet.

But there's another benefit,

Especially if you do this at night,

Before you go to bed.

The last thing that is on your mind before you drift off to sleep is going to remain there like a loop playing in the background.

And at least in my case,

I usually dream about the things I'm thinking about before I go to sleep.

And those dreams are vivid dreams,

Which are dreams that you cannot tell if they're actual dreams or you are living them.

They feel real.

In your eyes,

You can smell,

Hear,

Touch,

Etc.

So when you use affirmations,

You are allowing not only your brain to give you answers,

But also you're opening yourself to receive those answers through your dreams.

And also,

When you wake up and your conscious mind is not in full control,

When your subconscious mind is still a little bit powerful,

You can get glimpses of those answers.

And you can also be more open to receive knowledge from your spiritual guides.

So that's why affirmations,

Especially when you do them before you go to sleep,

Can be very,

Very powerful.

Okay,

Now I'm going to put music for,

Let's say,

Four minutes.

And I'm going to let you create a question and repeat it in your mind for those four minutes.

And with that paper or notebook,

I want you to write your answers down.

Now,

What happens if you don't get any answers?

That's okay.

Because my purpose with today's session is for you just to experience how this is done.

And then you can practice it by your own.

All right?

And it will help you a lot if while you are repeating that question,

If you were to breathe slowly and deeply,

So you can relax.

Thank you Juan Pablo, it is an interesting point of view, but for me, in order to flow, I prefer to do it very simple, just ask no matter if it is positive or negative, present or future. As I always say: G-d understand the language of the heart.🙏🏻🙌🏻🤲🏻❤️❤️❤️
