Lesson 1

Letting Go Of Expectation

In this lesson, we look at the sleep schedules of some of the great leaders in history, like Thomas Edison and Leonardo Da Vinci. We also look at their attitudes towards sleep.

Lesson 2

Letting Go Of Anger

In this lesson, we look at what Bolton Hall says about the liminal space between waking and sleeping and how we can use it to help ourselves get a better night's sleep.

Letting Go Of Ego

In this lesson, we look at another great thief of sleep - a feeling we sometimes get of being vital to the running of things. We discuss how to counteract it and take a look at the perils of over preparation.

Embracing Monotony

In this lesson we take a look at the repetition of mundane actions, sensations and stimuli, and explore their role in helping us fall asleep. We also hear about some strange mechanical devices that 19th century inventors came up with to induce sleepiness!

In this lesson, we explore the idea of accepting 'what is' by considering the benefits and potential beauty of wakefulness and look at whether it could be trying to tell us something.

I have found this course very useful and have recommended it to friends. Much of the information is new to me despite having listened to podcasts and read various books about improving the quality of my sleep. I like to listen while I prepare for the following day or well. I do self-care before sleep. Now that I have completed the course I will be listening again to absorb all the new ideas and get the benefit of Mandy’s soothing voice and encouraging words.

Interesting information about different ways of thinking about sleep, which I find very helpful for those nights when I am awake for no apparent reason. So much better to think of it this way than to fret, which definitely does not help one surrender to sleep. thanks!

I loved this course, Mandy. I usually listen to your stories at bedtime and thoroughly enjoy them. Your voice and delivery are superb. This was a lovely change. I especially liked class #5 because it talked about wakefulness. I’m often up in the middle of the night because I so enjoy the wakefulness. I’ll still try to get more sleep, but now I feel a little less guilty, and don’t feel quite as stressed not forcing myself to sleep. Thank you!
