Allow your eyes to comfortably close.
Breathe out in a long sigh,
Allowing your body to begin to soften and release.
Take your awareness down to the surface directly beneath your body.
Imagine this surface knows exactly how to support you in all the right places,
In just the right way.
Allow your body to soften into its support.
In your own time,
Become aware of the ebb and flow of your breath,
The sensation as air enters and leaves.
Notice the movements your body makes as you breathe,
The expansion of the in-breath,
The release of the out-breath.
Notice your breathing in from the space around you and out into it.
Allow your breath to slow and lengthen in its own time,
Without judging the way you are breathing or trying to change anything.
Let everything be as it is.
Just allow your body's weight to be supported by the surface directly beneath it.
Allow the whole of you to be supported.
As you do so,
Imagine you are lying on a comfortable sofa on the veranda of a peaceful dwelling by a wildflower meadow,
With a small stream running past.
It's early summer,
And the temperature is just right.
Allow yourself some time to take in your surroundings from your veranda.
The birdsong,
The exquisite wildflowers,
The gentle sound of the stream flowing past.
The breeze in the leaves of a nearby tree.
You feel safe and secure on your comfortable sofa with its deep,
Supportive cushions.
As you breathe out,
You sink into their support.
Perhaps your eyelids begin to feel heavy,
With the soothing sounds of the meadow and water,
The gentle air caressing your face.
And you allow every part of you to soften.
Your mind softens and sits back to rest on the support beneath your head.
All tension and holdings in your mind softening and flowing out and away.
Your body softens and lengthens with each out-breath,
Releasing what it's been carrying.
All sensations of discomfort softening.
Everything softening,
Soothing,
Easing.
The gentle sound of the stream and the beautiful ambience around you takes your mind to a place of deep peace,
Healing peace,
Calming your spirit,
Soothing your soul.
Allow yourself to receive its healing.
And rest for a while.

You allow your eyes to open and look around you at your beautiful surroundings.
Breathe in their life-giving energies.
Take all that you need.
When you are ready,
Gently leave your faranda.
And allow yourself to come back to the sensation of air entering and leaving your nostrils.
Notice the air is cool as it enters.
Warm as it leaves.
Notice the movements your body makes as you breathe.
Notice the healing energies of your wildflower meadow there within you still.
Notice you are here in this moment.
Notice the steady support beneath you.
And when you are ready,
You can draw this meditation to a close.
