Hi there,
Living with this condition is an incredible challenge.
You often don't understand your own body.
And you don't always feel understood by the people around you.
And at times it can be very difficult to hold on to hope.
Know that you are not alone on this journey.
There are millions of people all over the world going through this.
And step by step We are finding a way forward.
We are discovering the puzzle pieces.
And step by step you will discover what works for you and what doesn't.
And yes,
That takes an enormous amount of patience.
Slowing down and awareness.
Mentally and emotionally this is a deep challenge to go through.
So at times when more symptoms appear it's easy to slip into a downward spiral.
That's simply how our brain works.
It moves very quickly toward the worst case scenarios.
And then we can think,
My life is over.
And although this downward spiral is very understandable,
It takes a huge amount of energy.
And it also creates a kind of tunnel vision,
Which makes it harder to take a clear,
Gentle and healthy action step.
So let's look at how we can soften that spiral sooner and move into a more neutral place.
And one way to do that is to arrive in this present moment.
In that way you can create a small reset,
A new starting point.
So let's begin with taking a few deep breaths.
In any way that feels good for you.
I'll breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Let's do this three times.
And now can you feel your feet?
Maybe you can feel them standing on the floor or if you're lying down,
Perhaps you can place them flat on the bed or couch for a moment.
And just feel them.
Bring your awareness to your feet and feel your feet.
Maybe you can wiggle a bit with your toes.
And now gently move your attention upward.
Feel your left leg.
And then fill your right leg.
And then feel your pelvis.
Bringing awareness to your body is a great way to get more present with yourself.
Now fill your back.
And then feel your belly.
Very good.
You're doing very good.
Now bring your attention further up.
Bring it to your left shoulder.
And then your attention goes to your left arm.
In your left hand.
And now bring your attention to the right side.
Feel your shoulder.
Your arm.
And your right hand.
And sometimes I like to move my body parts a bit.
And in that way I can feel my body a bit more.
Now further up then you feel your neck.
Again,
You feel your head.
This is you.
Here.
Present.
Breathing.
This is your body.
Now this was a simple,
Very quick body scan and you can repeat this anytime you feel yourself drifting away.
Now slowly look around the room you're in,
Let your head and eyes move gently and name out loud five colors that you can notice.
When I do this now,
I see.
Brown,
I see pink.
And I see black.
I'll give you a moment so you can do this now.
Move your head and your eyes slowly and name the colors that you can see.
Very well.
It's wonderful that you started this practice.
You're already doing an amazing job taking care of yourself.
And after we finish this little practice together,
You can keep feeling into your body and gently ask.
How can I make things a little more comfortable for myself right now?
And this can be anything and it depends on the stage and the season you're currently in.
Maybe you want to open the window for some fresh air or putting on an extra blanket or warm socks.
Maybe you want something to drink or to put on soothing music.
And these are just some little ideas.
And remember this moment says nothing about the future.
How you feel right now says nothing about the future.
This is a snapshot,
Just one moment in time.
Right now you are allowed to take very good care of yourself.
And your body.
I send you so much gentleness and strength,
And with that gentle strength,
You can continue step by step on your healing journey.
