This reflective meditation explores change, impermanence, attachment, and the ways we hold on to the people, roles, possessions, and versions of ourselves that matter to us. Beginning with a change that is already alive in your life, the practice invites you to notice what you are trying to hold onto and what it might mean to meet change with a little less resistance. Drawing on a Buddhist teaching that compares the body to a guesthouse, we reflect on mortality, letting go, appreciation, compassion, and how we want to use the time we have. Inspired by verse 4 of The Thirty-Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas by Gyalse Tokme Zangpo.
